ROLE OUTLINE
The role of the Marketplace team is to deliver the highest excellence in Implementation Planning and Buying, spanning both offline and online media types, powered by data, technology, and automation, ensuring client campaigns are executed and amplified in an effective, efficient, and future facing way. The scope of Marketplace incorporates traditional media (TV, Cinema, Out of Home, Radio, Print, Digital Video and Display) and the online evolution of traditional media (Addressable TV, Programmatic OOH, Music Streaming and Podcasting). The role of Associate Director within the Marketplace team is to help shape and manage the delivery of client media plans.
WHAT YOU SHOULD SPEND YOUR TIME DOING
• Able to construct and present effective and future facing Implementation plans, that are grounded in strategic priorities and data-led optimisation recommendations.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the media landscape, able to confidently articulate and train others on core media principles and the how each media touchpoint can fuel growth for clients.
• Ownership of the media plan (creating, developing, updating and reconciling), including the distribution to all key stakeholders.
• Identify and lead product innovation opportunities for your clients and with your teams.
• Lead non-biddable projects across your client remit, working collaboratively with stakeholders to define and deliver success.
• Collaborate closely with internal product teams including GroupM proprietary product and service teams to ensure you have a robust understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients, can clearly articulate their benefits of their inclusion, with a focus on identifying growth opportunities that can help transform client Implementation plans.
• Lead initiatives to improve both agency and client capabilities, working across vendors and partners to achieve success. Seek to find, communicate and implement improvements in all aspects of the role.
• A pivotal role for client media audits, media negotiations and billings forecasting, working hand in hand with your key stakeholders to deliver to goals and client KPI’s.
• Ensure your team are delivering on time and with accuracy.
• Well-established understanding of media planning principles, including agency practices and philosophies.
• Actively contribute to new business development and pitching when required.
Leadership:
• Ensure all new team members are onboarded correctly in line with the Enboarder workflow.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the team to ensure that SOX controls, SLAs and KPIs are adhered to.
• Manage leave and team absences to ensure coverage for team responsibilities and minimal impact to remaining team members.
• Motivate the team to achieve individual, team and organizational goals.
• Develop and train team members to ensure they reach their potential.
• Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills.
• Conduct fortnightly 1:1 check-ins, annual Career Conversations and Annual Performance Reviews through Culture Amp.
• Liaise with the People Team to resolve all team disputes to ensure a safe and productive team environment.
• Create and foster a cohesive team environment through team activities and cultural moments.
WHAT MAKES A GREAT MARKETPLACE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
• Holds a deep practical knowledge of Digital Investment.
• Requires a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Relevant qualification in Media or Marketing
• Experience leading Projects, preferably with a qualification in Project Management
