About the Role (Your why)
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing onsite and offsite network support for our clients’ environment. You are expected to provide exceptional levels of service and assistance to rectify and solve issues as they are reported. This will be achieved by your ability to work across variety of teams to provide high-level technical support for data network systems, including an ability to create and maintain network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards.
This role will be based in our Perth office. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!
To be eligible for this role you must either be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Network Engineer you will be focused on:
- Support customer network environment/s
- Establish and nurture relationships with appropriate staff both within Datacom and our clients
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to more junior staff
- Perform reporting duties
- Liaise with Professional services and Sales Teams
You will have the opportunity to continue developing your expertise in working with technologies including Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VPN & Remote access, VoIP, WLAN, and Load Balancers. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the latest in technology and to continue learning as we introduce new services and products for our clients.
What You’ll Bring
Required technical experience:
- Understanding of Networking principles and practical application
- Experience in engineering and administration of multiprotocols, multilayer switches including LAN protocols, BGP, RIP, NAT, OSPF/EIGRP, TCP/IP and Wireless (Cisco, Aerohive, Fortinet, Aruba)
- Experience with router and switch technology as well as working knowledge in protocol analysis. Includes ability to configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot
- Experience with DNS configuration and management
- Exposure to Cloud Solutions: Azure, AWS
- Experience with analysis and implementation of Firewall requests
- Experience with diagnosis and troubleshooting using firewall analysis tools
- Experience with supporting VPNs
- Experience with IP address management, NAT and PAT
- Industry certifications are highly regarded
- Holds CCNA Certification, CCNP preferred
- Load Balancing: F5, Citrix Netscaler, Global Server Load Balancing
- Firewall/Network Security: Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, IPS, and VPN
- Contribution to continuous improvement security processes and strategies
- Provide technical solutions through project delivery and design teams to meet operational needs
