We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Manager to play a central role in the expansion of our Assets product in Australia.  With Assets, we’re changing how people think about holding money. Our customers can choose to hold their money as “cash”, or hold it as an investment in money market funds, a type of low risk fund that offers a return in line with the applicable interest rate.  This role is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on the way people hold money. 

Your Mission

Wise has launched the Assets product, a new type of investment account, in the UK, Europe and Singapore. Assets enables customers to invest their funds with Wise in various asset classes, including money market funds, while maintaining the immediate access and spending capabilities of a checking account. This product allows customers to earn returns aligned with central bank interest rates, while preserving instant access to their invested funds.

You will help grow the Assets product in Australia. In your role, you’ll ensure that Wise is fully compliant with the regulatory requirements to offer investment products to its customers in Australia. You will also be expected to identify key risks related to Assets product and ensure these are mitigated effectively. 

You will contribute to the growth of the Assets product in Australia. In this role, you’ll ensure that Wise complies with all regulatory requirements for offering investment products to customers in Australia. Additionally, you will identify key risks associated with the Assets product and ensure effective mitigation strategies are in place.

This is a first line Product & Risk Compliance role, embedded in the Product team. 

You will be responsible for: 

Launching and improving the Assets product in Australia in a compliant way:

• Work with product teams throughout the product lifecycle, from design and user testing to launch and post-launch monitoring.

• Serve as the primary contact for any regulatory questions or implications regarding the Wise Assets Australia product.

• Conduct and document thorough regulatory analyses of new products and services, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place before launch.

• Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

• Identify opportunities to enhance our product proposition and competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practices.

Managing and Mitigating Regulatory Risks: 

• Identify regulatory risks and ensure effective mitigation for Wise’s investment product in Australia.

• Conduct pre-launch and ongoing regulatory risk assessments, providing valuable advice to product managers on current and upcoming regulations, gaps, and risks.

• Work with Compliance and Product teams to ensure that remediation plans are agreed upon and executed promptly.

• Collaborate with colleagues in the second-line compliance oversight team to keep product teams informed of new and upcoming regulations.

• In collaboration with second line Compliance and Risk teams, identify and align on the main regulatory issues and risks in Australia. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to the wider teams, to work with them on defining the solutions and how this should be executed. 

We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Manager to join our growing Product Compliance & Risk team in APAC and to help out the Pacific team specifically. This role is hands-on, a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission and help save millions more people money.

Your mission is to work with our product teams to launch new products and grow our presence in AU/NZ through a deep understanding of the regulatory requirements and Regulators’ expectations around them. 

This is a first line Product Compliance & Risk role, embedded in the APAC Product Squad. 

You, together with the team in Pacific, will be responsible for:  

Creating and improving our amazing products in a compliant way: 

• Deeply understand regulatory needs, translate this into solutions and work together with the Product Teams to build compliant new products and services  in a customer oriented way; 

• Perform regulatory analysis of new products and services, and ensure that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch; and

• Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

Regulatory risk and remediation:  

• By understanding both the Wise product deeply enough and the local regulatory expectations - support Product and other teams on how to interpret regulatory requirements, and improve processes and our product to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents; and

• In collaboration with second line Compliance and Risk teams, identify and align on the main regulatory issues and risks in AU/NZ. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to the wider teams, to work with them on defining the solutions and how this should be executed.

We're seeking a QA Agent to conduct daily call evaluations on current employees in Sales, Customer Services, and Claims. In this role, you'll ensure a high standard of both verbal and written communication and an excellent understanding of Neilson’s products and procedures to provide constructive feedback. You'll use focus, initiative, and forward thinking to encourage agents to deliver their best possible performance at all times.

 As a QA Agent, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting the required amount of call evaluations as per the Quality Assurance Team Leader’s instructions.
• Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of NFS’ QA Framework, including the compliance requirements for sales, customer service, and claims-related calls.
• Ensuring all complaints and breach issues are communicated promptly to management when detected.
• Meeting required targets for productivity and quality, contributing positively towards team performance.
• Maintaining a good understanding of NFS’s systems and processes used to sell and administer its products.
• Promoting effective communication within the QA team and with internal stakeholders such as sales agents, customer service agents, and managers.
• Delivering consistent and accurate feedback to sales agents, contributing to their performance improvement.
• Attending and contributing within call calibration sessions, designed to develop and share best practice.
• Adhering to all company policies as per the employee handbook.
   

The QA Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a team of QA Agents, whose primary function is to conduct quality assurance assessments on calls (sales, customer service and claims), to manage regulatory and operational risk and assist with the personal development of contact centre staff.

Working closely with the Learning and Development Team, the QA Team Leader will help identify trends and training needs through the analysis of QA results and deliver constructive feedback to sales and customer care management, aimed towards driving a culture of continuous improvement. 

Duties & Responsibility

 As the QA Team Leader, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Leading a team of QA Agents, ensuring calls are assessed consistently, in line with the existing QA framework.
• Driving the team of QA agents to achieve agreed business KPIs at all times.
• Working closely with the Learning and Development Team to identify trends and training needs through analysis of QA results.
• Providing relevant and constructive feedback to the sales, customer service, and claims teams.
• Escalating complaints and breaches to appropriate management when detected, and supporting the Compliance Team with its investigations.
• Providing an opinion on the practical effectiveness of the QA framework to Compliance and Operations, contributing towards process improvement.
• Conducting ad hoc quality assurance assessments, where required.
• Administering NFS’ QA Appeals process, ensuring that QA assessments escalated for appeal are reviewed appropriately and recorded accurately.
• Maintaining excellent and up-to-date knowledge of NFS’ products, systems, and processes, along with a good understanding of operational and regulatory risk.
• Assisting the wider Risk and Compliance Team with the practical embedding of any changes to the QA framework due to regulatory changes.
• Assisting the Risk and Compliance Team with risk management assurance activity in relation to the QA framework through initiatives such as ‘check-the-checker’.
• Producing regular performance reports and management information to facilitate effective oversight of the function.
• Ensuring that the QA Team adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Participating in the delivery of ad hoc projects set by the business from time to time.
• Hosting collaboration sessions with sales, customer service, and claims management to ensure the QA framework is understood, enforced consistently, and embedded within the company culture.
