About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead our team. Opening to the public in mid-2025, we are looking for a truly passionate Hotel General Manager to guide the pre-opening and operation of our luxury hotel and glamping resort.

This role will draw on your passion for hospitality, guest service, and knowledge of curating unique experiences. This position suits an individual who is not afraid to be innovative and creative, possessing a real flair for hospitality! You will champion the activation of spaces including unique experiences and the creation of real ‘champagne moments’ for our guests.

 In this role, you will:

• Be an ambassador of the guest experience, focused on curation and bringing concepts to life.
• Oversee all hotel operations, ensuring high service and guest satisfaction standards.
• Lead, mentor, and manage staff across all departments. You will be a true engager of people!
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue, occupancy, and guest satisfaction by leveraging existing platforms across Journey Beyond.
• Be numbers-savvy while operating through a guest-centric lens.
• Enhance our unique product by building relationships with guests, local businesses, and the community.

About you:

• Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are a must!
• You will have comparative hospitality experience leading a product that is not a traditional hotel and can demonstrate the use of contemporary practices to deliver incredible guest experiences.

What you’ll deliver: 

• Working as part of a team within the GTM organisation supporting each other to achieve joint revenue targets on all assigned customers

• Assume overall responsibility for product adoption and utilization, preparing and educating customers on leveraging new features and releases.  

• Support the customer on release readiness by identifying opportunities for customers to take advantage of product innovations to increase value and impact over time 

• Partner with customers to define desired business outcomes and develop success plans, focusing on maximizing value realization from our solutions and services to deliver measurable ROI

• Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders at all levels, and deliver compelling Value Reviews that drive confidence and successful partnership

• Provide recommendations for best practices and look for potential solutions alongside other functional experts within SmartRecruiters. Connecting customers to available resources and where appropriate, other customers

• Prepare the customers for the contract renewal process by identifying value delivered and managing any risk or Red Account Objects. 

• Supporting the Account Manger to bring the renewal to a successful conclusion 

• Identify opportunities for account growth through upsell and cross sell and manage all opportunities to the Account Manager qualification stage

• Attend regular ongoing training both reactively and proactively to become a solution expert

• Use insight available to conduct consistent customer health checks to ensure solution adoption, optimization, satisfaction and engagement. Take action and provide recommendations to drive improvements when risk is identified

• Identify any potential risk to revenue loss or renewal by raising and managing Red Account Objects together with Account Managers and other internal functions to remediate and ensure revenue retention

• Build advocacy within the given book of business to increase the number of referenceable customers, identify case studies and other content which can be used to increase growth opportunities

• Contribute to adoption, best practice content and events held by the Community & Education team to increase the opportunities for self service education, including hosting best practice sessions for customers

• Act as the voice of the customer and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement across all areas including product

• Collaborate closely with other internal functions to facilitate connections between them and the customer to assist in achieving desired outcomes whilst managing customer expectations on resources, timelines and responses from other functions.

• Create group masters and update group information as it is received eg. rooming list, arrival, meals, follow up on information if not received.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure group requirements and special requests are actioned.
• Ensure the standard group contract/confirmations are sent for ad hoc groups contains the booking conditions (deposits, final numbers, room list requirements etc)
• Use a standardised report used to advise other hotel departments of the groups details/requirements (Kitchen, Restaurant, Porters, Housekeeping).
• Weekly reporting of groups “on the books” and identifying key demand periods and low demand periods.
• Track group bookings for wash, materialisation and turn ways.
• Ensure follow up for final numbers, deposits and rooming lists.
• Have sound knowledge of Accor specified yield management practices and attend /
• Communication with DOS and Sales department to forward all possible leads and feedback from inbound and corporate markets.
• Communication between Front Office and Reservations Office open and reciprocal.
• Develop and supervise new leads, qualify prospective leads as to profitability.
• Alert management to any potential concerns to enable prompt attention.
• Ensure completion of daily duties, eg. Correspondence, filing, reports, etc.
• Use of Opera to accurately record all activities, contacts, etc.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with conference clients, PCO’s, hotel suppliers and other hotels.
• Check master account billing to ensure correct changes.
• Any other duties assigned by your manager.
• Ensure that any payment issues are brought to the attention of the Reservations Manager and Financial Controller.
• Ensure the prompt and accurate processing of commissions.
• Promote up selling and add selling within the team.
• Manage no show bookings in accordance with the hotel cancellation policy
• Ensure all outward correspondence complies with the company procedures and any unusual correspondence is authorised by the Reservations Supervisor and/or Manager.
• Liaise with Conference and Catering to ensure contractual agreement is uniform in both F&B and rooms.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced sales professional, who is open to learning about our sales methods and processes to ensure we are selecting the right franchise partners for Success Tutoring. You will be guided by our founder and sales team in the sales process, strategy and plan moving forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Process Management: Manage the franchise sales process (we have a very detailed training program that we take you through) from initial inquiry to the final agreement signing. This includes having initial phone calls, video calls and face to face sessions with prospects.

Relationship building: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing franchise partners.

Hosting Events: Hosting physical events for locals to explain the Success Tutoring franchise method which is taking the world by storm!

Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and franchise partner communications.

Collaboration: Work closely with the executive and marketing team (based in Sydney) to develop effective sales and promotional materials.

NOTE: We have a very strong marketing team which will completely book your calendar with prospects that are interested in purchasing a Success Tutoring franchise. Your role will be to follow the sales process we have provided and filter candidates.

Base of 110k p.a + SUPER + 5k commission per franchise sold
