Job Description:
The Compliance officer is a role responsible for ensuring effective quality systems are implemented, maintained, and monitored for compliance against Assure Ability polices and processes, governing legislation, and regulations.??
The role will ensure quality practice and drive standards of care across all service areas in alignment with evidence-based research, ethics, and regulatory compliance requirements in safeguarding under supervision of Compliance manager/Director.?
This role will cover alongside Assure Ability’s management teams to manage risks, achieve accreditation and meet quality management objectives under supervision of Compliance manager/Director.?
Key Responsibility:
1. Monitor Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes to NDIS legislation, guidelines, and standards and ensure that organizational policies and practices align with regulatory requirements.
2. Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures related to NDIS compliance, privacy, safeguarding, and quality assurance.
3. Audit and Review Processes: Conduct regular audits and reviews of organizational processes, documentation, and service delivery to assess compliance with NDIS standards and identify areas for improvement.
4. Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. Provide guidance and support to staff in managing compliance-related issues.
5. Training and Education: Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff to increase awareness of NDIS requirements, ethical standards, and best practices.
6. Incident Reporting and Investigation: Oversee the incident reporting process, ensuring that all incidents are documented, investigated, and addressed in accordance with NDIS guidelines and organizational policies.
7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement quality assurance processes to monitor and enhance the quality-of-service delivery and client outcomes.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, incidents, and corrective actions. Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
9. External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders involved in compliance related matters. Coordinate external audits and inspections as needed.
10. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance organizational compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Medical, law, social sciences, Public health (preferred).
Skills and Experiences:
1. Demonstrated experience in a compliance role within the disability services sector, preferably with knowledge of NDIS regulations and standards.
2. Strong understanding of compliance principles, risk management, and quality assurance frameworks.
3. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
7. Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
