About the Role:
This unique permanent opportunity as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Alcoa, empowers you to shape your career in an exciting three-year customised graduate program allowing you to contribute to a more sustainable world. During the program you will rotate across our WA locations based in the Peel and Upper Southwest regions. These site-based roles allow you to easily fit the graduate program into your lifestyle whilst allowing you to learn and grow, and develop hands-on experience and expertise in:
- A range of mechanical and process equipment spanning mining, refining and materials handling.
- Solving complex problems and implementing improvements as part of a team.
- Building positive working relationships with a wide range of site personnel across our professional and operational teams to achieve strategic business goals.
- Fostering change and innovation to support the achievement of cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunities.
- Providing support in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of refinery equipment by applying engineering principles and strong communication skills.
Working alongside seasoned professionals throughout the program, you will be provided with coaching, mentoring, hands-on and professional training to accelerate your development and maximise your full potential. The best part is that your experience will be diverse; from working in our corporate offices as part of our Global Asset Management team, to a local on-site environment within our 2 mine sites, 3 powerhouses and 2 alumina refineries.
You will be provided with an increasing level of responsibility to use your innovative thinking, your motivation to learn and passion for growth to shape the future of our business. You will be in an open-minded workplace where your ideas will be valued in a supportive environment encouraging you to think outside the box.
