The Opportunity

Our Maritime Account seeks an energetic and motivated Graduate Engineer to join their team. As the Graduate Engineer, you will be responsible for driving your own development and experience in an Engineering Rotation Program as directed by your line manager.

During your engineering rotation, you will have the opportunity to support various line managers in the delivery of engineering assurance functions. You will develop skills in Asset Management including System Safety, Certification Basis, Engineering, Logistics Support and Configuration Management.

Responsibilities

• Under direction, perform activities related to engineering function and contribute to engineering assurance outcomes and deliverables.
• Under direction, conduct investigations and relating to platform system assets, including the verification and validation of technical data.
• Under direction, work within a multidisciplinary team to develop design requirements and solutions in the context of engineering change management and configuration management.
• Participate in design reviews, verification and validation activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline or Naval Architecture.

About the Role (your why)

The Cybersecurity Engineer, will be a member of our Group Technology Cybersecurity team located in any Datacom office.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Cybersecurity sector and is looking to build a career in this space. You will have a solid understanding of networks, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, Endpoint controls, DLP concepts and technologies.

You will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a Cybersecurity related role and ideally have exposure to security technologies such as Crowdstrike, Azure, Sentinel, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet etc.

What you will do:

• Ensure premium presentation and maintenance of our grounds.

The Opportunity:

As the Communications Engineer, you will be accountable to the CA31 Battlefield Communications System (BCS) Tactical Communications Network (TCN) Sustainment Manager within the LC4S Branch Sustainment SPO for engineering activities relating to sustaining CA31’s TCN fleet of products along with other TCN engineers and technicians, and may occasionally be engaged to support the other CA31 BTN capabilities.

Your role will include: engaging with stakeholders, investigate radio frequency communications engineering concepts, deliver and manage specifications and resources in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle. Investigate, analyse and report on radio frequency communications engineering defects, requirements, develop and implement recommendations and advice to address issues.

You will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. You will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of communication engineering under broad direction.
• Accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
• Apply engineering knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting.
• Demonstrate communication engineering knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the development of advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Appropriate Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field/specialty (RF/Communications)
• Registered Chartered Professional Engineer
• 8-10 + years of relevant, advanced and complex engineering experience
• Experience in Defence Industry.

This position will require the Communications Engineer to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. TP Level Three (3): Registered Chartered Professional Engineer on National Engineering Register (NER) with many years of relevant engineering experience in the areas specifically required for the role to be filled. The areas specifically require proven experience and knowledge in advance and complex engineering for the role.

TP Level Four (4): Communications Engineer with an accredited or recognised four-year engineering degree and has completed a minimum of three years engineering work experience after completing the degree, e.g. RF Communications.

You must not have worked full-time for Defence as either an ADF (SERCAT 6 or 7) member, or APS employee in the 12 months prior to commencing with CA31 as an “Above-the-Line” contractor.

About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. About the Role (your why)

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join us as a member of the Technical Services team, you’ll interact directly with clients and other members of the Datacom teams to support technology-based solutions. You’ll be responsible for the support of server infrastructure, within contracted time frames and services level agreements. The Purpose

• Operating System hardening based on recommendation by the Centre for Internet Security (CIS)
• Develop scripts, Ansible playbook ( Bash or Python ) and API calls for automating system administration and other repeatable tasks

• Programming skills in PowerShell, Python, C++, Golang, Rust, or similar languages.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of J2EE and/or .NET internals.
• Strong technical skills in SQL and XML, complemented by an understanding of network/HTML/HTTP traffic.
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies like AWS and Azure, alongside expertise in web technologies, server/client-side (Java Servlets, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, HTTP, RESTful architecture).
• Proficiency in web application architecture and software, including familiarity with Web Servers (Apache, IIS), Application Servers (WebSphere, WebLogic), Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), and Operating Systems (UNIX, Windows).
• While expertise in all these areas isn't expected, a high-level understanding of their functionality and interrelationships is crucial.
• Basic administrative skills for these technologies are a plus.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking.

About the Role

As a Senior Service Desk Agent, you'll look after Tier 2 resolutions being a point of contact to our biggest clients. No two days will be the same as you’ll be constantly thinking outside of the box to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring the most efficient and effective customer service, possible!
As part of the Managed Services team, you’ll provide high quality, efficient support to our clients and their customers through responding to telephone calls, emails and alert monitoring. Following ITIL processes, you’ll identify, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests.

Operating Hours
The operational hours for the Service Desk are Monday to Sunday 6am to 8:30pm, to be successful for a Full-Time role you will need to have full availability to work across these hours on a rotating roster.
