About the Role:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation of a busy yard to ensure all aspects run efficiently, with a strong focus on safety and effectiveness. You will coordinate and supervise activities to ensure that Team Global Express is promptly processed, loaded and delivered on time.
Critical to this role is the ability to plan, coordinate and execute daily activities.
The role plays an important part in achieving daily KPI’s and identifying / actioning process improvements, along with engaging support from other functional leads.
Some key responsibilities:
Oversee floor operations to ensure cost efficient and effective allocation of labour and equipment to achieve daily work requirements including ensuring leave is proactively managed and in line with day-to-day with customer service requirements.
As a member of the site leadership team, you will proactively lead and engage the team by setting and maintaining work standards and behaviors.
Ensure loading of dangerous goods is carried out in accordance with the dangerous goods code.
Ensure all freight is secured safety in accordance with load restraint guidelines.
Ensure that all employees and contract carriers are fully inducted and trained in all aspects of their work.
About you:
You are a confident, self-motivated, and outgoing individual with an ability to work well under pressure to prioritise competing issues in a busy but positive working environment.
Key skills we are looking for:
Previous experience in a busy operations environment in Transport or Logistics industry
Understanding of the Transport Industry and knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to role.
Strong communication skills with proven ability to lead and engage a team.
Ability to prioritise workload and achieve results through people.
Commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.
Lateral thinker with hands on attitude.
Proven problem-solving ability with a solution orientation.
