About the Role (your why)  

As an Employment Relations Advisor, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring fair and effective employment practices, with guidance, to our Australian practice. This is an ANZ team and there will at times be the opportunity to work across NZ legislation.  This role will analyse information and data necessary to define and discern reputational, cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. The role oversees daily business activities within the functional area, including, working alongside colleagues to improve overall business functions.

What you’ll do   

• Provide expert advice on employment legislation, policies, and procedures  to People and Culture, and the business, within the latitude of established company policies in order to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.
• Conduct investigations into workplace disputes, grievances, and disciplinary matters and represent Datacom where necessary in meetings, negotiations and investigations with employees/their representative.
• Conduct research on human resource policies, case law and other employment issues.
• Ensuring value and business outcomes are evaluated and articulated appropriately.
• Familiarity with recognised industry bodies of knowledge, both generic and specific.
• Mentoring and coaching others
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and legal developments.

What you’ll bring  

• Bachelor degree in Human Resources or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of employee and industrial relations frameworks.
• Good knowledge in people management best practice principles, initiatives and processes.
• Ability to understand impact of decisions on wider group.
• Knowledge of employment and company compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in a ER role.
• Ability to manage complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Proven negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties.
• Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information across various levels.

About the opportunity:

We are looking for a casual farm hand to work on our existing macadamia orchards and developments across multiple properties in the Maryborough region. If you are a self-motivated individual with a keen eye for safety and a passion for outdoor work, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Orchard Manager, you will be responsible for:

• All aspects of farm work
• Contributing to the development and installation of irrigation systems
• Operating farming machinery
• Assisting with the herbicide and pesticide application
• Contributing to a positive and productive working environment.

• You will hold a C class drivers licence (essential) 
• You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work)
• A positive, can-do attitude is essential
• You will have experienced working on a farm (preferred but not essential)
• A holder of a Chemical Users Certificate (preferred but not essential)
• Certificate II or III in Rural Studies or Horticulture or Agriculture (preferred but not essential)

• Award hourly rates with paid overtime in accordance with the Horticulture Award

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer / Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Infrastructure and Manufacturing will work closely with senior team members and external parties to collaboratively design, plan, project manage and deliver key infrastructure whereby Loam is a key stakeholder and transition the manufacturing of the methane abatement product to scale. This will accelerate the timeline to commercialisation of products to the livestock sector that deliver methane abatement outcomes.

Initially, the role will focus upon coordinating and overseeing the transition of the current laboratory and staff located at Charles Sturt University, Orange to a new facility. The new facility will include a dedicated laboratory, office space and a pilot biomanufacturing plant that has the potential to scale to commercial supply. Concurrently, the role encompasses the responsibility for design, construction and installation of unique methane measurement chambers designed for beef cattle (and supporting equipment) to be located at Central Queensland University, Rockhampton. As product development matures, the role will lead the biomanufacturing scale up and assist in the delivery of large scale animal field trials in the field that require infrastructure and adoption of integrated technologies.

About you

You will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects in accordance with agreed deadlines whilst conforming to regulations and design codes. You must have the ability to successfully integrate services and work collaboratively with a range of diverse and geographically dispersed stakeholders and contractors.

The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator, practical and forward thinking, be meticulous in planning but also comfortable with managing continuous change. Experience in the agricultural sector and specifically livestock operations is highly desirable.

The role will be based in Orange or southern Queensland, requiring intermittent both intra and interstate travel.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for infrastructure and manufacturing across multiple global locations of a novel product line.
• Lead and drive scale-up initiatives across the product line.
• Lead and supervise infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance projects for research, development, and manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, building, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research, development, and production activities.
• Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
• Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure and manufacturing operations.
• You will play a significant role in safety management and operation of the labs, along with owning internal safety processes and policies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the infrastructure and manufacturing teams.

• Managing the design, construction and establishment of a new laboratory and office space, incorporating a pilot manufacturing plant, which has the capacity to increase in scale

• Project management of construction and installation of open circuit respiratory chambers at Central Queensland University
• Supporting Loam senior scientists with installation, maintenance, and operation of key R&D infrastructure related to biomanufacturing
• Investigate potential scale-up pathways through direct investment in capital equipment or external engagement with Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMO)
• Supporting larger scale field trials involving capital infrastructure, measurement methods and technology integration
• Ensuring infrastructure and related processes comply with safety and quality standards while performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues
