About the Role
The College of Science and Engineering is seeking an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Computer Science, to join the talented academic staff at Flinders University. As a Teaching Specialist you will focus on teaching and teaching-related activities which involve the creation, delivery, and continuous quality improvement of university-level education.

As the Associate Lecturer/Lecturer, you will be accountable for contributing to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of computing related topics within the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Teaching Program.

You will be required to contribute to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies, that will enhance the student experience. Other responsibilities of the role may include curriculum design and review, contributing towards maintaining internal and external compliance and accreditation of courses and utilising advancements in education technologies.

About You
Candidates will be determined to be suitable for Level A or Level B positions depending on their relevant experience. The successful candidate for a lecturer position in Computer Science will demonstrate:

As the Associate Lecturer in Computer Science, you will have:
- Satisfactory completion of a four-year tertiary qualification in an area of computing.
- Completion of, or significant progress towards a PhD in an area of computing.
- Experience teaching a range of introductory and intermediate level computing related topics in a tertiary environment.
- Demonstrated evidence of contributing to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level, including involvement in curriculum development and teaching methodology.

As the Lecturer in Computer Science, you will have:
- Completion of a PhD in a computing related area.
- Teaching and learning experience at a tertiary level to a high standard in a range of computing areas, at a variety of levels and with varying class sizes.
- A demonstrated understanding of pedagogical frameworks in the delivery of teaching with a deep appreciation of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, and scholarship.
- Evidence of the use of learning and teaching approaches which enhance student success including but not limited to a good understanding of appropriate assessment techniques and student feedback.

As a qualified physiotherapist, you will assess, treat and prevent physical difficulties resulting from injury, illness, disability or ageing to improve movement and general wellbeing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to independently manage a varied caseload of MSK Clients including Private Patients, DVA, Workcover & EPC Clients.

Key Accountabilities

Implementing programs and projects for optimising the capacity and life cycle of the Company's floating assets and equipment including:
Assist the Manager Fleet in ensuring that fleet of tugs and other floating plant are effectively and efficiently maintained to ensure maximum availability and reliability through integrity of fleet condition data, development of fleet maintenance plans, inspection regimes, prioritised periodic maintenance and rehabilitation programs;
Reduce overall lifecycle costs through the development, documentation and implementation of assessment, monitoring and computerised maintenance systems.
Provide input to allow high levels of governance of routine and major fleet maintenance and building projects including CAPEX and OPEX input;
Lead or assist with management of special projects including; vessel acquisition and divestment projects, technical direction relating to operational projects, modifications and dry dockings as directed by the Manager Fleet.
Ensuring all vessels and related projects are managed in accordance with the defined process including:
As a member of the Growth & Operational Division, participate in an effective marine management team to provide safe, efficient and customer focused towage and marine operations;
Working closely with Manager Fleet to ensure that crews understand and acquit their responsibilities relating to use and maintenance of tug fleet in accordance with approved maintenance systems;

Key Capabilities

Marine Engineering experience;
Experience in developing, implementing and managing fleet maintenance and asset management systems;
A knowledge of lifecycle costing philosophies, including the balance between scheduled and breakdown maintenance and the mechanisms to operate within both paradigms;
A knowledge of tug vessels and experience in tug operations and the towage market in Oceania;
Solid administrative and high level interpersonal and negotiation skills;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; and
Proven vessel dry docking management experience in a towage and/or maritime environment.
Essential Qualifications/Certifications
AMSA Engineer Class 3 minimum (or equivalent) or Tertiary Marine Engineering qualifications e.g. Diploma of Marine Engineering, or Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Engineering) or Bachelor of Technology (Marine Engineering), or relevant marine industry experience;
Current Driver's Licence (requirement to travel extensively across the state of Tasmania)
