The Accountant will oversee critical accounting functions and support a range of business activities. This role demands exceptional financial acumen, a high level of detail orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Comprehensive Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyse detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Advanced Bookkeeping: Maintain meticulous records of financial transactions, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Tax Compliance: Manage complex tax compliance tasks, including preparation and filing of tax returns, GST and PAYG obligations, and implement effective tax planning strategies.
• BAS Management: Prepare, lodge, and reconcile Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring accurate reporting of GST and PAYG withholding.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and adjust budgets and financial forecasts. Provide detailed insights to support strategic business planning.
• In-Depth Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Produce detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
• Audit Preparation: Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Payroll Administration: Manage payroll processes, including wage calculations, superannuation, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Stay informed about changes in accounting laws and standards.
• Financial Systems Management: Implement and maintain financial systems and software to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Client Interaction: Manage client relationships, provide expert financial advice, address concerns, and handle inquiries professionally.
• Business Development Activities: Engage in proactive outreach to potential clients and partners to identify opportunities and foster new business relationships.
• Booking and Scheduling: Manage scheduling of meetings, appointments, and coordinate events related to financial and business functions.
• Debt Collection: Oversee collection of outstanding invoices, follow up on overdue accounts, and ensure timely payment of receivables.
• Certification Management: Oversee and manage certifications related to pallet racking systems, including scheduling inspections and maintaining compliance records.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA qualification preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in accounting with a proven track record in financial reporting, tax compliance, and BAS management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas. Expertise in VBA is required and will be assessed during the application process.
• Experience in client management, business development, and administrative support tasks.
• Advanced understanding of Australian tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems, software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
