We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Finance team to support the Corporate Functions to help achieve their financial goals over various time frames.

What this role is about?

The role serves as the principal contact between the Corporate Functions and the central Group Finance function, facilitating effective communication and ensuring alignment between the two.

Here's more of what you’ll work on:

Reporting (Month, HY and FY)

• Performance Monitoring: Review and analyse monthly financial activities for the Corporate Functions, including detailed assessments of month-to-date (MTD) and year-to-date (YTD) performance.
• Dashboard Reporting: Prepare and present monthly performance dashboards, highlighting key metrics, trends, and variances. Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and provide actionable insights.
• Accruals & adjustments: Review and approve accruals or adjustments to ensure that financial statements reflect the true economic condition.
• Insights: Provide meaningful insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive better business performance.

Decision Support

• Partner the Corporate Functions leadership team with financial decision-making by providing relevant data, analysis, and recommendations.
• Build and maintain financial models, e.g. FTE resource model, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and other ad-hoc financial analytical activities as required.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Business Unit Finance team. Focus on enhancing productivity, efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of financial processes.

Forecasting & Budgeting

• Review budget/forecast models for the BU, ensuring they reflect all financial aspects including revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure driver-based assumptions are signed-off by the BU, and offer insights into the status of budget submissions, highlighting areas of opportunities and risks.
• Provide the Corporate Functions with reporting on forecast submissions, including status against target. Offer analysis and insight to support the forecast, helping stakeholders understand the implications of forecasted results.

Team Lead Functions

• Assist and provide guidance to the Finance Business Partner with day-to-day activities
• Review and provide oversight of the team’s workflow and new initiatives.
• Process improvement of team procedures and functions

The 9Predict data science team develops, builds and delivers data science products to provide audience forecasting and solutions to business problems. Key responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, developing and implementing data science models, and communicating findings to stakeholders. We push the envelope in what is possible and work on new and novel implementations of data science techniques.

Major area of focus for the team is forecasting audiences across all of Nine’s assets (Metro TV, Regional TV, 9NOW and other channels) to more effectively monetise & yield manage commercial ad inventory.

The Commercial Data Team is responsible for the delivery of Nine’s data driven commercial products that currently supports over 50% of Nine’s digital advertising revenue across 9Now, Publishing and Audio assets. The team is responsible for Nine’s data partners (Equifax, Azira, Mastercard and Coles 360), our onboarding/data clean room partners (Adobe, Salesforce, Tealium, Liveramp, Karlsgate and DataCo), our contextual & brand safety vendor Mantis plus Dynamic Ads vendors Adgreetz. The team also manages Nine’s Commercial Data Insights Platform – Salesforce Datorama. The team also leverages Adobe Audience Manager and Audience Experience Platform to support Nine’s segmentation and targeting strategy.

The Commercial Data team is Nine’s market leading data team who provides consulting services to both internal and external stakeholders. They have led the market in product innovation across digital data for the last 9 years. You will be joining a high performing team of digital data subject matter experts.

Day to day you will:

• Collecting & analyse large amount data from ambiguous & various sources (ensuring the quality & accuracy of the data)
• Creating regular reports in addition to maintaining & improving the reports and dashboards (using various platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Datorama and Tableau)

About the Job 

The primary purpose of this role is to execute Rest risk management framework within the Service Model Transformation Program. This role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that might impact the successful delivery and completion of program, and manage risks introduced into the business as a result of the transformation.

The individual will report to the Head of First Line Risk, and work closely with the Portfolio Director, project managers and key business and project stakeholders to ensure that all SMT project streams are executed with a clear understanding of potential risks and that appropriate risk responses are integrated into project planning and execution.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Performing 1st Line of Defence risk project delivery and delivered risk assessment on all project streams. This will includes ensuring the project adhered to the Risk Management Framework.
• Develop risk response strategies to manage identified risks effectively.
• Performing risk assessment across the all the project streams, aggregation of all the projects risks and determining the overall impact to the SMT program risk profile.
• Work closely with project managers to integrate risk management into the project lifecycle, and oversee maintenance of the RAID register.
• Provide regular reports to the Portfolio Steering Committee on the status of the project risks and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies. This will include escalation of significant risk issues promptly.
• Ensure the project risk management activities comply with Rest policies and frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Reporting to our Executive Chef you will be responsible for food preparation for our breakfast buffet, and at times assist with Pumphouse Sydney, in room dining, and function service. You will be required to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, whilst ensuring a high-quality product.
