About Us
Sensational Healing Allied Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join the team at spacious clinic at Ripley Town Centre. Our amazing multidisciplinary team also consists of occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, counsellors and allied health assistants. We are passionate about working with children, young people and their families as well as supporting up and coming clinicians to develop some great clinical skills while working in a supportive team environment.
At Sensational Healing Allied Health, we provide children, young people and their families with client centred intervention that effectively achieves positive outcomes. We use an attachment informed framework that focuses on strengthening relationships within families and empowers our young people to achieve their goals. Our clients require supports around neurodiversity, developmental disabilities, mental health challenges and/or developmental trauma.
About the Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a speech pathologist to develop their clinical skills across paediatrics, child mental health, disability, or a combination of all 3 to meet your individual interests and professional development goals.
The role is based at our Ripley Valley clinic but will also include offering community-based services one day per week to the Ipswich, Springfield, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim regions, dependent on client needs.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary model as well practice using family centred approaches. Our multidisciplinary approach means our therapists work together so clients can get the most out of their therapy and reach their goals successfully.
You will also be externally supervised for clinical supervision by highly experienced senior speech pathologists depending on your learning goals as well as in groups by our senior therapists, who have a combined 30+ years' experience across paediatrics, child mental health and disability.
Essential Criteria
Bachelor in Speech Pathology (or equivalent)
Current registration with SPA (or soon to be for new graduates)
Current open drivers license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence and discipline in working independently, especially in community based settings
Willingness to supervise Allied Health Assistants
Desirable Criteria
Paediatric experience
Experience working with National Disability Insurance Scheme
Experience running therapy groups
