The Role

The internal medicine head nurse position is an exciting opportunity to extend and advance your nursing career.  The role will comprise of clinical and administrative duties, responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Co-ordination of the daily operation and tasks of the medicine department through continuous and clear communication with senior members of all departments.
• Care of both hospitalised patients and outpatients, assisting in sample collection, sedation, preparation, restraint, and anaesthesia of medicine patients for further specialised diagnostics, such as ultrasound or endoscopy
• Daily communication with both clients and referring veterinarians.
• Optimise scheduling of appointments and procedures throughout the week.
• Working with the senior nurses in other departments to maintain cleanliness/hygiene and order of the hospital.
• Supervision and growth of the medicine nursing staff.

About You

The ideal candidate would have a Cert IV or higher in veterinary nursing. They would be professional, genuine, and personable, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
