We’re looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Sodexo site-based team on a FIFO 8/6 roster, supporting various villages. This is a permanent full-time position and an ideal opportunity for someone who has 2 or more years in the industry to date. 

Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will work closely to support site-based personnel across all Sodexo functions. You will conduct audits and risk assessments alongside client-driven Health and Safety activities, and undertake projects as required by the portfolio.  

Your responsibilities will also include: 

• Undertaking incident investigations and providing follow up reports 
• Ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines (training provided) 
• Providing safety training, mentoring and coaching to Sodexo onsite personnel 
• Identifying areas for improvement and implementing systems, policies and procedures  
• Promoting and contributing to a positive safety culture at site 
• Contributing to toolbox sessions and pre-start meetings

To be successful, you’ll need:  

• To be able to undertake a flexible working roster with frequent site travel 
• Australian citizenship or full Australian working rights  
• Able to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing 
• You will be required to obtain a National Police Check, should you not have one dated within the last 6 months 
• 2 years’ experience in the safety industry 
• Cert IV Health and Safety 
• Cert IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain) 
• A current WA Manual Driver's license  
• Experience conducting ICAM investigations (preferred) 
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

As our Construction Safety Advisor you’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving the safety management system for construction projects. In this role you’ll also responsible for undertaking desktop and on-site safety audits and driving safe work practices within our construction projects.

• Develop and maintain construction safety management system procedures and guidance material
• Review and critique external partner project-specific safety management plans and client requirements
• Participate in High Risk workshops with the project management team
• Undertake routine onsite construction inspections to ensure safety issues are appropriately identified, assessed and risks are mitigated

About the Job

Reporting in to the GM, Investment Risk, the role is focused on the comprehensive management and oversight of risks throughout Rest's financial governance process, ensuring consistency with the organisation's defined risk management strategy and appetite.

The position involves the development, implementation, and supervision of regulatory requirements including:

• SPS 515: Strategic Planning and Member Outcomes
• CPS 190: Recovery and Exit Planning
• CPS 900: Resolution Planning

Additionally, the role entails developing, implementing and overseeing compliance of a Scenario Framework including the development of scenarios to manage strategic and external risks across Rest.

As Head of Financial Risk, the primary purpose is to manage and oversee risk across Rest's entire financial governance process, ensuring alignment with the company's overall risk management strategy and appetite. This includes leading the regulatory change program for SPS 515, CPS 190 and CPS 900.The position requires a strong partnership with the Finance Business Unit, including Investment Operations.

Key responsibilities are:

1. Evaluate and strengthen the oversight of policies, frameworks, and systems designed to mitigate financial risks.
2. Challenge and improve controls and processes for financial, management, taxation, reserving, regulatory reporting, capital management and actuarial management, as well as investment operations.
3. Challenge the oversight of financial and investment operational service providers and managing associated risks.
4. Lead Rest’s regulatory change program for SPS 515, CPS 190 and CPS 900 which includes developing necessary documentation, implementing these standards, operationalising policies/ processes, and managing the associated changes.
5. Collaborate with senior stakeholders such as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer, and the Chief Risk Officer to navigate and implement regulatory changes pertaining to SPS 515, CPS 190, and CPS 900.
6. Oversee the effective ongoing compliance of SPS 515, CPS 190 and CPS 900.
7. Develop and implement a Scenario Framework to address strategic and external risks, particularly within business planning as per SPS 515.
8. Oversee compliance with the Scenario Framework once implemented.
9. Oversee the adherence to regulatory requirements and legislation specific to finance as enforced by governing bodies such as APRA and ASIC, in accordance with standards and guidelines including SPS 515, CPS 230, SPS114, CPS 190, CPS 900, and RG97.

Overall, this role focuses on challenging Rest's end-to-end financial and investment operational processes by enforcing effective risk management and ensuring compliance.

Reporting to the Lead Advisor - Health and Safety, you will form part of a dynamic team based in Mackay, and be responsible for, however not limited to:

• Providing professional advice and support, and engaging, influencing and coaching the workforce to promote continual development and improvement in safety culture.
• Ensuring risk/hazard registers are maintained for all facilities
• Facilitating a consistent approach to risk management ensuring workers are trained and using risk management tools, including Take 5’s and JHA’s.
• Facilitating the reporting and recording of all incidents, hazards and near misses.

• Conducting regular visits to all areas of responsibility interacting with the management team and workforce.
• Coach and provide advice through all company levels on how best to meet responsibilities and required H&S standards
