Financial Accountant vacancy in leading education industry Your new company Reporting to the CEO and Managing Director at our brand new offices in Southport, this role will cover all elements of the finance function, including delivering of forecasts, budgets and monthly results to stakeholders. Your new role
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Full responsibility of month end reporting
Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
Establish, implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
Preparation of financial statements
Dealing with external Accountants, Tax Advisers, and Auditors
Fortnightly Payroll for 65 staff
Compliance requirements of superannuation, GST, PAYG, payroll tax, workers compensation etc
Oversee Accounts Receivable, including recommendations for development & implementation of further automated processes
Consolidating monthly results with commentary / analyses of balance sheet movements and income statement variances against budget / forecast
What you'll need to succeed
CPA/CA qualified (or near to completion) with min 4 years of experience in a similar role
You have a detailed operational knowledge of Xero and you are highly proficient in MS Excel.
Strong understanding of state and federal legislation and reporting requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-driven, results oriented individual with ability to critically assess own performance
