The Role 

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineer to support the PKET (Port Kembla Energy Terminal) and firming assets operations and engineering team in maintaining safe and efficient operations. Reporting to the Terminal & Firming Asset & Maintenance Manager, this role will provide Instrumentation & Electrical engineering expertise while fostering a fundamental process understanding throughout the team. You will also be responsible for the development and ownership of reliability management systems and processes for the PKET facility.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Instrumentation & Electrical engineering expertise and offer SME advice on the Instrumentation & Electrical aspects of PKET operations.
• Deliver guidance and direction to PLC and SCADA support service providers.
• Develop and champion reliability improvement plans and establish an ongoing process for reliability engineering and root cause analysis.
• Champion asset/equipment condition monitoring and develop procedures to ensure adherence to designed safe operating envelopes and environmental licenses.
• Ensure compliance with relevant processes and standards, statutory legislation, risk controls, and industry, Australian, or government standards.
• Engage with key operational partners to maintain end-to-end process understanding in Instrumentation & Electrical safety and plant optimization.
• Assist the Process Engineer in providing guidance to PLC and SCADA support service providers.
• Assist with the development of maintenance strategies for new equipment and provide SME advice during the development of risk-assessed maintenance activities.
• Provide technical assurance and insight during the development and review of operational procedures, HAZIDs, and HAZOPs, and serve as the SME owner of hardware barrier integrity.
• Own key KPIs and reporting for the PKET facility, and actively support the asset whole-of-life costing model work.

• 10 years of experience as an Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer within the process industry, preferably in oil and gas or chemicals.
• Experience with a Major Hazard Facility.
• Fundamental process safety training/knowledge.
• Cybersecurity acumen and competency.
• Experience with electrical switching and high voltage electrical equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work within a team and develop/coach others.
• Ability to conduct complex data analysis and calculations with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience in contractor management.
• Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering degree.
• Process Safety Training.
• Able to obtain and maintain an MSIC card.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager/Project Engineer to join the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne or Sydney office. 

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of Octopus’s projects at all stages of the project lifecycle including origination/investment, development, construction and operation.

Our project managers/engineers are expected to:

• Manage the construction stage delivery of renewable energy projects, managing scope, program, budget and stakeholder engagement to achieve best for project outcomes.
• Provide engineering support to the wider business including:
  • Providing technical input into due diligence for investment processes.
  • Supporting development and procurement activities.
  • Evaluation of operating plant performance and investigation of issues.
  • Supporting with investor relations.

Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead areas of the design and development of Epsilon Retail Media’s software systems. This role will be familiar with all the policies, procedures, and technical issues related to programming. You will be generally competent across the majority of areas within the Epsilon Retail Media system and have a good understanding of how it functions together.

You will take a lead position in the development of initiatives within the squad structure and provide the technical vision for the initiatives you are involved in. You will also be responsible for communicating status updates to people external to the squad, including any potential risks to the delivery deadline (scope creep, reduced resources etc.) as early as possible so effective support can be provided.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Mentor Junior and Intermediate Software Engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
• In collaboration with your Engineering Manager and the Technical Lead, build and maintain development processes and procedures, in TDD (test-driven development) or BDD (behaviour-driven development), and build upon a core SDLC.
• Implementing and monitoring ongoing strategies to enable us to deliver quality and excellence through robust testing education and policies that are balanced and appropriate to the scope of the project being delivered.
• In collaboration with the Test and Release Manager, establish automation quality assurance test methods and procedures, incorporating new technologies and meeting changing organizational, customer, and/or regulatory requirements.
• Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.
• In collaboration with other Senior Software Engineers and Engineering Managers, ensure timely status and metrics reporting to project management and senior management.
• Work with the Development team, Product Managers, and Engineering
