About the role
As a Desktop Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our internal users and resolving incoming queries and issues. You will be critical in managing any service requests related to computer systems, software or hardware.
Other key areas of responsibility will include:
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware;
- Manage and respond to service requests and incidents via the Service Desk tool either, in person, or over the phone. This may include but not limited too:
- User onboarding and offboarding
- Technical support
- IT procurement
- System and network builds and implementations
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems;
- Assist users through the problem-solving process;
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
Please note this a 3-4 month contract.
About You
You will thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. With a proven track record of success in a similar varied position, you will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, be passionate about problem solving and the user experience, and be able to work autonomously.
You will also have:
- At least 3 years’ commercial IT experience;
- Knowledge of IT Workflow tools, including FreshService;
- Exposure to virtualization platforms;
- Knowledge of Windows 10 Desktop Troubleshooting and basic Mac;
- Knowledge/experience with G Suite Software, Active Directory;
- Experience with updating and managing technical documentation;
- Hardware knowledge;
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking;
- Microsoft products Knowledge (Office and Windows Server 2012 R2+);
- Strong attention to detail skills with a proven ability to develop high quality solutions to identified problems.
