Who Are We

We empower students and their studies by providing highly engaging small-group tutoring designed to prepare them for school assessments and final exams. Our sessions are presented by experienced but young tutors who can teach the study design in a simple and intuitive yet engaging way.

Over 5,000 students and 100 team members have joined our tutoring services since our founding in 2020. Opportunity to Tutor Groups

Have you ever wanted to do group tutoring but never got the time or students to? Maybe you’ve been doing one-on-one tutoring so far, and now you want to explore group tutoring? As a VCE tutor at Contour, rather than tutoring one student at a time, you can now motivate groups of students with your knowledge and experience without the hassle of more admin work and finding students.

Access to High-Quality Tutoring Material

You’ve probably spent hundreds of unpaid hours making tutoring resources for your students. We know it can be an extremely time-consuming process, and arguably one of the more boring and tedious parts of being a tutor. But that’s where we come in! We’ve spent thousands of hours creating resources and detailed notes for VCE subjects. All we need now is you—the tutor!

All you have to do is prepare for your tutoring session by reading over the class workbooks beforehand, and provide an excellent tutoring experience to your students :)

Competitive Pay and Compensation

We pride ourselves on compensating and rewarding our tutors for their hard work. The starting rate ranges from $90 to $160 per 2-hour class (exc. Super) depending on the size of the classes you take. If you're already a veteran tutor, then apply for our senior tutor role and the rates can only get higher as you pick up more classes, show dedication to Contour, and contribute to the success of your students!

We've also introduced a new compensation model since 2024 where you'll also share part of the revenue generated by your classes. We want you to feel rewarded for introducing students to Contour and doing a great job at making them happy, so if Contour grows, you'll grow with it!

In some circumstances, if you already have private students but want to transfer them over to Contour, we can potentially even provide payouts so you can move all your tutoring work to us. Win-win!

Minimal Admin Work

There is almost no requirement for admin work. All you have to do is take simple attendance, manage student emails, and address student questions promptly outside of class via social media/text/email. Our support teams organise class days and times, following up on missed attendance, managing payments and enrolments, so you can just focus on the student and tutoring. However, If you’d like to create additional resources for us or do more non-tutoring work, we can also organise tailored payment plans to suit your needs :)

Support & Personal Development

Working in a collaborative environment and an energetic team can be a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills and learn so much along the way! When you work with us, you’ll also have the chance to learn from tutors who have spent thousands of hours tutoring and have garnered years of experience, perfecting their craft.

You'll be trained upon joining and we'll provide you with personal feedback as you settle in. What You'll Do 

We currently have a 12 month maximum term contract opportunity for an experienced Training and Onboarding Manager to lead our organisational efforts for the SIXT Australia business.   

Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, SIXT, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective training strategy that aligns with our business objectives. Your primary focus will be identifying training needs, designing relevant programs, training execution and assessing their impact on employee performance and loyalty.  You will use your creativity, design, and facilitation skills to onboard and execute training for new hires, ensuring they become confident team members and enhance customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.  You will also be responsible for prioritised project specific training and work with key stakeholders to conduct training need analysis and understand business requirements.  

This role offers hybrid work arrangements from our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices with the flexibility to work from home as agreed and required.  There may be a requirement to travel across our SIXT site locations as part of the role.  

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Design, develop and implement effective training programs tailored for diverse roles across the business with a primary focus on our onboarding program and secondary on project rollout training 
• Collaborate with P&C function and key stakeholders to assess training needs and objectives 
• Liaise with Global SIXT and NRMA resources to utilise and align their training program with SIXT Australia 
• Leverage a blended learning approach that includes e-learning, virtual sessions, self-directed learning as well as face to face workshops, sessions and modules 
• Develop and manage the training plan for onboarding and prioritised projects 
• Conduct a training needs analysis mapped for various roles across the business 
• Manage training and onboarding budget 
• Lead onboarding (including orientation and role-specific) training sessions, whether in-person or virtually, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning environment.   
• Measure and report on defined quality and performance competency levels are met following training  
• Ensure acknowledgement tracking for mandatory training 
• Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics 
• Flex and adapt to changing needs across the organisation and the team, leaning in to assist where needed   
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in training and development to continuously improve our training outcomes.
