Little Zaks Academy Seeking a Cook/Chef to plan and prepare nutritious, well-presented, and appropriate meals and snacks for children at our Ropes Crossing centre. Our aim is to provide early childhood care and education in a safe, welcoming, adopting and nurturing environment. Our staff are dedicated professionals who value the importance of maintaining an optimum level of care and education for all children. We select our staff based on knowledge and values, vision for children and learning, and commitment to families. We are seeking a Cook/Chef to prepare warm & nutritional meals using rotational menus for the children in our care at Ropes Crossing centre. This is a permanent part-time position working 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday 7 hours/day (excluding breaks). About the role: Prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for the children based on a 4-week rotating menu Ensure that the meals prepared meet the special dietary needs of the children with allergies & cultural preferences Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks Order food supplies in line with menus and within the Centre's budget and check of food deliveries made to the Centre To work with the Centre Director to create and prepare a wholesome menu Communicate positively with children and staff on a daily basis About you:   Relevant qualification in hospitality/commercial cookery/nutrition or early childhood education Previous experience in a similar role desirable Menu planning and allergy management experiences Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one Food Safety Supervisors Certificate or willingness to obtain one First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one Benefits for you:  Competitive remuneration $500 annual bonus 50% staff childcare discounts for your own children A paid day off on your birthday & a well-being day (on top of your annual leave) $1,000 staff referral bonus for every successful referral Continuous career development opportunities and Future Leaders Program Study allowances to upskill your qualification including ECT degrees (T&Cs apply) Travel Allowances (T&Cs apply) Mentoring from our values-driven Leadership Team and full support from a well-established Support Office Employee Assistance Program We are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children by implementing a comprehensive screening and interview process, conducting thorough candidate reference checks, and other checks to foster a child-safe organisational culture.
