Salary: $80,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
Our client, Education Centre of Australia (ECA), is looking to fill a full time position for a skilled and experienced ICT Business Analyst to join its IT management team, who is qualified and highly experienced to translate business needs to create high-quality business requirements within specified time frames to solve moderately complex problems with minimal support.

You will play a lead role and will be responsible for partnering with business and other IT teams within the ECA to provide specialist advice and guidance to ensure the sound and effective execution of ECA’s ICT Project work. The focus of this role is to work closely with the Project’s stakeholders to gain in- depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.
You will be responsible for gathering requirements and translating those needs accurately to the development team, whilst ensuring that best practices and internal quality guidelines are being met. This role will require a high level of detail and supervision in the upkeep of the product and software lifecycle, this will mean providing consistent oversight and proactively identifying and addressing risks.
The role will be responsible for analysing business processes, identifying alternative solutions, assessing feasibility, and recommending new approaches. You will have the opportunity to design end-to-end solutions and must have ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications to meet project objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
You must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years previous experience in the similar role is must.
Responsibilities:
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Drive the development and documentation of business processes including process objectives/outcomes, roles, responsibilities, policies and process maps, according to common business process standards and identify business improvements
• Work with key staff from diverse business units to gather and document business specifications and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements
• Work with stakeholders to build relationships, document and develop business scenarios, procedures and work instructions to support the business process using the required standards, methods and tools
• Provide technical expertise and direction in support of system infrastructure and process improvements, diagnosing and resolving complex customer system issues
• Develop business cases and establish a common approach to manage key project stakeholder escalations to achieve project milestones and agreed project budget
• Develop deployment strategies
• Provide advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities
• Consult & communicate with developers about the business application requirements & develop functional specifications to be used by software developers
• Design and document functional and technical requirements and help scope projects by understanding timelines and work
• Identify the processes and information technology required to introduce recommendations, solve complex technical implementations both independently and in a team environment.
• Investigate opportunities for process improvement in areas of complexity or to relieve business process pain points
• Gather business requirements from clients and analyse & design the project timeline & budget.
• Analysing & design the project outlines accordance with the business process to enhance software, process & hardware with detailed analyses, clearly defining problems and solutions for them
• Organise, specify and model business requirements to ensure they are complete and unambiguous
• Communicate business changes in appropriate terms to IT/business teams and gain their agreement on the process redesign
• Define roles, responsibilities, service tiers, documenting process flows
• Act as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process
• Maintain all required documentation including process maps and specifications to support the business change and development programme
• Analyse requirements, consult with senior developers and produce viable solutions
• Assist in the strategic planning of database structures, applications, policies and architecture
• Support the development and implementation of solutions to meet business requirements
• Develop a variety of ICT processes, including data structure standards, tech standards, monitoring utilities, optimisation methods to ensure stability and performance
• Work directly with ICT staff to trace business requirements through to test plans and cases, reducing time to fix issues and identify anomalies
