Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

About Role/team:

Canva’s Content Creative team is on a mission to empower our users around the world by providing them with world-class, inspirational Templates and Elements that help them achieve their creative goals. 

We work from concept to creation on high quality, globally relevant, trend-setting creative across Canva’s product ecosystem (Presentations, Docs, Whiteboards, Social Media, Websites, Print, to name but a few!), Brand Partnerships, Seasonal and Cultural Campaigns, Education, and Diversity Initiatives.

Content Creative is responsible for setting the overall Creative Strategy and Direction for the content that sits within Canva’s library, entrusted with holding our content and its creators to the highest of standards. Our job is to ensure that our library provides end-to-end content solutions that enable our users, whether they be Professionals, Educators, or first-time Designers, with the tools they need to create beautiful designs. 

Our team partners with many stakeholders across the Canva organisation, including Product, Marketing, and Search & Recommendations to devise, design and deliver creative content that showcases the very best of Canva’s products and services.

Responsibilities

• Own Content Creative's Education Creative Strategy—this includes its development, implementation and continual optimisation, driving forward momentum in this space throughout the business.
• Coach a team of Creative Strategists and Designers, guiding them on your creative vision for education and developing their craft.
• Oversee the creative ideation, development and execution of ready-to-use Templates and Elements that empower teachers and help students build critical skills.
• This would include the developing & approving of creative briefs, and driving creative production for our graphic design, illustration, photography, and motion graphics teams with respect to education content creation.
• Work alongside senior Canva leadership to develop and present vision decks and creative strategies that advocate for effective learning content and drive our vision for education forward. 
• Maintain and develop our education content playbook to empower our international teams to apply our creative content strategies in their local markets.
• Consult with our international Creative Leads to help set them up for success as they plan and create Education content
• Develop and maintain education content guidelines and best practices to ensure we are positioning the highest quality, most effective and engaging content to our education users.
• Work in partnership with our Design Operations and Content Strategy teams to recommend production streams in line with budget, ROI and company goals.
• Partner closely with our Product and Search & Recommendations teams to identify and advocate for product enhancements that will enhance the learning experience in Canva and allow our user experience to be more engaging.

What we're looking for

• Be an expert in education design and ensure that Canva’s library is a world leader in content that empowers primary and secondary educators with interactive learning materials that inspire and challenge learners – developing our next generation of critical thinkers.
• A highly experienced Graphic or Visual Designer and Creative Leader, we expect you to have a strong foundational craft knowledge in education design to oversee the design quality of partners, artists, and our in-house creative production. 
• Have extensive previous experience in the creation, curation and advocacy of education and interactive learning content in Digital Media. 
• A leader who is comfortable communicating, engaging with, and managing expectations of Canva leadership, organizational stakeholders, and growing, coaching and mentoring a team of creatively minded individuals who are passionate about education.
• A keen eye for what makes great design, and a passion for constructing meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
• An ability to interpret user trends and data, working collaboratively with our Content Strategy and Insights team to integrate those insights into your creative strategies.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

About the role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our us and support a broad team of qualified technical consultants responsible for design and documentation. This role covers Mechanical building service systems and provides support in areas of commissioning and operations. Supporting in procedural and process management as well as analytical coordination with peering groups covering Property Management, Project Management and HSE.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate across Engineering, Construction, Facilities, and ICT groups to ensure delivery and operations of optimised data center solutions, services and functionality, therefore facilitating growth and scalability of our core business.
• Perform mechanical engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects.
• Perform calculations to analyze and design mechanical system components.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical systems and materials.
• Contribute to the development of mechanical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents and client presentations pertaining to specific project deliverables.
• Deliver tender and For Construction design documentation with assistance from consultants.
• Ensure all mechanical system architectures are designed in accordance with industry best practice method being applied for industrial controls systems adopted within critical infrastructure & utility environments.
• Assist in the new projects and upgrade activities, through lifecycle management, ensuring continual resilience and accuracy of data center system control platforms.
• Work in collaboration with internal business verticals including Operational Site Management teams and Technology teams to ensure all generational improvement, enhancement and training deliver optimised and functional outcomes.
• Work diversely as a key part of a small but highly professional broader CDC team to positively build upon the
• culture and capabilities of our collective.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline, preferably with data center or industrial buildings experience. 4 - 6 years' experience in engineering consultancy
• Knowledge of building services design installation and operation.
• Ability to document engineering principles via drawing and specifications.
• Display key personal qualities including the ability to work remotely, be a team player and exhibit excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Display a strong commitment to customer service with a focus on deliverables.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, in particular).
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Navisworks, REVIT or similar CAD programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Essential:

• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain, an NV1 Security Clearance
