Distribution Design Engineer

A great opportunity to join the Distribution Engineering team in Perth and help develop their growing team. The Distribution Design Engineer, will manage overhead and underground distribution design projects. A strong technical background to drive engineering solutions whilst developing and gaining exposure to complex and cutting-edge technologies in a business focused on power and energy.
Key elements of the role:

33kV to 240/415V (HV & LV) network investigation, analysis, and scoping
Overhead power line design & modelling
Design of Asset relocations, reinforcement, and upgrades
Street lighting design, AutoCAD and MicroStation Drafting
Underground power networks design (including subdivisions)
Technical feasibility assessments, technical compliance audits, quality assurance
checks, and detailed design tasks.
Coordinate/schedule of works within electrical, drafting & design team, ensuring
delivery milestone is achieved.
Liaise with key stakeholders including clients and utilities.
Support and mentor junior employees.

The suitable candidate will possess the following:

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Power
Minimum 1+ years engineering experience in consultancy power utility environment (applicants with senior experience will be offered packages according to their skill level)
AS7000 Overhead Line Design Experience highly regarded
Strong first principle understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
Demonstrated experience in distribution design for overhead and underground networks
Excellent understanding of Power and Water technical standards
NER Qualification (desirable)
Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards including AS3000 & AS2067
Knowledge and skills in the use of the required computer systems and applications
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organisational and work ethic skills
Current WA Driver's Licence
