Come and discover the opportunity to join our Ranbuild business in our team as Customer Service Representative (Technical), located at our Hamilton Hub in Newcastle.   Ranbuild is a market leader in the pre-engineered building market and has been supplying sheds, garages, and steel buildings for over 70 years, specialising in the commercial, residential, rural and equine markets.  In this role, you’ll utilise your technical aptitude to learn to interpret plans and drawings, quickly developing your skill set across our range of products.  Of course, we don’t expect you to know everything from day 1, you’ll have the support of a strong professional network at your fingertips who are invested in seeing you achieve.  Your success will grow from estimating and providing specialist advice to customers and fabricators, as we grow our business now and into the future.

What Will You Do?

In this exciting customer-facing opportunity, you will play a key role both in supporting our Home Improvement and Shed market segment with estimations, while also supporting our customer service team.

• providing personalised assistance to customers, handling inquiries and quotes via phone and email
• partner closely with internal stakeholders including sales, commercial, and technical teams to exceed customer expectations
• follow up customer quotes, deliveries and product supplies for the team
• nurturing leads by following up on quotations and inquiries, converting them into rewarding sales opportunities

• experience or exposure to technical drawings, drafting, building estimating, or a keen interest and willingness to learn
• exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
• high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• the ability to influence and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
• demonstrated computer literacy, with some experience in data entry and MS Office

About Your Role: Contract Manager

Join us to play a pivotal role in optimising Thales' contract co-ordination and management. As a Contract Manager, you'll be responsible to identify and mitigate contractual and financial risks while uncovering commercial and continuous improvement opportunities throughout the contract life cycle. Your expertise will assist to safeguard Thales' commercial position, ensuring program success and championing business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage contracts and standing offers within the Above Water Systems portfolio.
• Support bids and projects with contract and project administration.
• Analyse and review customer non-technical requirements.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of technical requirements and associated priorities.
• Support the Capture/Bid team in identifying contractual requirements.
• Ensure contractual obligations are completed, managing changes and disagreements.
• Build and share expertise in Contract/Commercial Management principles.
• Support awareness and training of stakeholders in Contract Management.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualifications in Business, Finance, Law, Project Management, or Engineering.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Business, commercial, and regulatory knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Experience in contract management, legal, commercial, or project management.
• Successful track record in providing contract support for project success.
• Customer-oriented with strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON procurement and contract suite.
• People skills, collaborative working style, and ability to multitask.
• Leadership experience and risk/opportunity management expertise.

DESIRABLE

• Extensive Contract Management experience.

About Your Role

Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commerica ships. We’re proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through operational support to our defence partners. With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and develop an impactful career with us.

Located centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land your role purpose will be:

• Act as a key business partner to senior leaders in Above Water Systems operations, aligning business goals with HR strategy
• Offer expert guidance on policy interpretation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks
• Provide specialist advice on program/project changes, ensuring compliance with Fair Work requirements
• Coach managers and senior leaders to enhance team performance, culture, and continuous improvement
• Drive annual HR activities such as remuneration reviews, talent reviews, and performance management, while supporting ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualification/s coupled with previous experience in a similar HR or ER advisory role, ideally supporting both remote and on-site stakeholders
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, demonstrated HR systems skills and the ability to interpret complex data when required
• Experienced in providing generalist advice and support to diverse stakeholder groups across areas such as;
• employee advice, line manager support, guidance on employee agreements, performance management and other generalist support
• Skilled communicator, strong customer service skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder partnerships
• Well-developed HR generalist knowledge, well-developed problem-solving capabilities and an analytical approach in your ability to achieve outcomes through people
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure within fast-paced environment
