About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, passionate and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Eureka 89. This is a full-time position with an immediate start due to business growth. In this hands-on role, you will prepare and bake a variety of desserts and sweet goodsfor our six and eight-course Chef’s Tasting menu, plus event canapés. You will also maintain the highest standards of food quality and hygiene and develop expertise in your assigned specialty.

Your duties will include:

1. Food Production Management: Overseeing the preparation and execution of cheese and pastry courses, ensuring that all dishes meet high restaurant standards, and managing food production to maximise quality and efficiency.
2. Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to, particularly regarding allergens and dietary requirements.
3. Inventory Control and Ordering: Managing stock levels, conducting regular stock rotations, and ordering ingredients in line with monthly budgets, while reporting any shortages and wastage to the Executive Chef/Head Chef.
4. Mentoring and Team Support: Monitoring and training junior kitchen staff members, providing creative input on new menus, and assisting the Head and Executive Chefs in planning and preparing desserts that cater to various dietary needs.

This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail and a positive work attitude. You may be required to work any of the seven days of the calendar week, including weekends and gazetted public holidays. A standard working day can consist of up to 12 working hours, within the hours of 07:00hrs and 00:00hrs.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery / Pastry (preferred)
• Provide First Aid & CPR (preferred)
• Food Handling Safety Certificate (essential, or willing to obtain upon commencement)
• Knowledge of industry best practices

About You

• 2+ years’ experience in a similar Pastry Chef role
• Demonstrated experience producing high-quality food unsupervised, with knowledge of all sections
• Can ensure a kitchen meets all compliance and regulations, including hygiene and food safety guidelines
• Appropriate knowledge of ingredients, cooking methods and best practices
• Ability to show initiative to take on more responsibility
• Ability to control food production to maximise quality and efficiency
• Monitor and train junior kitchen team, while supporting the Kitchen Management
• Good leadership skills, with a positive “can-do” attitude
• Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, with high fluency in English
• Entitlement to work in Australia

About the role:

You will play a vital role in overseeing the Accounts processes for our suppliers. You will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

Acquisition & Lead Generation

• Identify and engage potential referral partners across multiple sales channels
• Conduct targeted outreach to prospective partners, focusing on high-impact platforms while exploring and brainstorming new and innovative channels for the team to explore.
• Work alongside the Senior Business Development Manager to develop collateral used for various partner types and pitches

Sales & Relationship Management
