The Editorial Director for AFR Ventures is responsible for driving the strategic and editorial success of key Financial Review projects, including its influential AFR Lists and Summits across key industries. AFR Ventures also oversees the paper’s Special Reports, Thought Leadership and a broad range of special events. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Ventures and work closely with the Commercial Director to develop and deliver high-quality content for new and existing partners. 

Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop, and optimise new and existing event opportunities, ensuring timely, high-standard delivery of themes, agendas, and speakers.
• Collaborate with Sales to conceptualise and present Special Report opportunities; oversee the Special Reports Editor to ensure high-quality, timely content.
• Manage Program Managers to ensure successful delivery of AFR Lists, covering operations, marketing, methodology, and customer service.
• Grow and execute Thought Leadership initiatives, developing a suite of products like Insights Reports, Roundtables, and whitepapers.
• Explore and propose new products such as polling and market research, crafting campaign proposals and pricing.

What you will be doing

As the Senior Manager, Paid Media, you will be a core member of the Growth Marketing team and will be instrumental in building, leading and driving our digital and above the line paid media strategies. You will be a hands-on paid media expert with an inquisitive and growth mindset, constantly looking for growth and testing opportunities to deliver commercial outcomes. You will bring an advanced understanding of paid media activities across all core channels and platforms, such as, but not limited to, SA360, DV360, Meta, and ATL Media Buying.

This role is a unique opportunity, combining strategy and hands-on tactical execution, and the ability to shape the direction of our paid media strategy and team.

• Lead, execute and manage best in class, high performing digital media campaigns, from strategy to execution through all relevant channels and media buying methods. This includes, but is not limited to: Paid Search (SA360), Meta Ads, DV360 and other Programmatic platforms
• In collaboration with the broader marketing team, in particular the brand, creative and analytics team, strategize, lead, execute and manage best in class, high performing Above the Line marketing campaigns through all relevant media buying methods and channels, such as OOH, Radio, and TV
• Build and manage relationships with key partners, including but not limited to: Google, Meta, Programmatic Platform Partners, Media Networks, Partners and Agencies
• Seek out and identify innovative media opportunities and look to implement and test these to drive commercial outcomes
• Work closely and collaboratively with the marketing data analytics team, reporting on performance against targets and to uncover growth opportunities and actionable insights aimed at delivering continuous improvement
• Working side by side with the App Strategist, build, execute and manage our app growth and retention plans
• Working in collaboration with the marketing automation team to build cross-channel customer journeys
• Proactively source external and internal audience and market insights to inform program planning and direction
• Own and manage a constantly evolving a/b testing roadmap that considers audiences, bidding, creative, new ad formats, new channels, landing pages and more, to constantly optimising campaigns to their objectives
• Work in collaboration with the in-house creative team to ensure campaigns are utilising effective and optimised creative that cut-through
• Lead, manage and develop a high performing team of SMEs in performance and brandperformance marketing, as well as app strategy
• Champion and be the leading subject matter expert in paid media, both ATL and BTL across the business – work with the marketing team and the broader business to ensure we are at the forefront of paid media across brand awareness, performance, programmatic, brandperformance
• Stay across and share among stakeholders the latest paid media trends and industry developments, and adapt strategies where applicable

As a SEO Specialist, you will be instrumental in building and implementing our SEO strategies aimed at elevating and growing our online visibility. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, technology, marketing and editorial.

• Identify, develop and implement SEO strategies and tactics
• Regularly conduct in-depth website audits to identify and recommend actionable SEO opportunities, be it technical or content
• Provide regular data-driven, insight-rich SEO performance reports, inclusive of optimisation and growth opportunities
• Deliver and collaborate on all aspects of SEO, across both technical and content strategies and tactics, such as on-page optimisations (user experience, content, design), site speed / core web vitals, keyword research, content optimisations, link building, site / page authority, indexation tactics, data /schema structure
• Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams – technology, product, data, marketing, content – to strategise, develop and implement SEO best practices, ultimately designed to achieve business objectives
• Work in collaboration with the content team to build out and implement an SEO strategy across YouTube, auditing the current set up, and constantly improving and evolving our YouTube SEO to ensure it adheres to best practice
• Work in collaboration with the App Strategist to optimise our searchability of our apps within the relevant app stores – apple and google
• Stay across, and share among stakeholders the latest SEO trends, industry developments, algorithm changes, and adapt strategies where applicable.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of tasks within the Media Services Department. The primary responsibility is to service the replay requirements of productions taking place in the studios. Additionally, it is responsible for servicing the record and export needs of both internal and external departments. This role is crucial in completing all scheduled jobs to a technically accurate level, ensuring the highest quality output. 

Day to day you will be responsible for:

• The smooth running of area and completion of all bookings 
• Error free ingests and records. Adapting to varied and complex program formats.
• The knowledge of all relevant equipment and the willingness to assist internal & external clients to complete their bookings 
• Maintaining technically accurate records, replays, archive and playouts 
• Assisting in the principal goal of maintaining the continuity and quality of Nines transmission
• Dealing with pressure, prioritising and performing duties with minimum delay
• Ensuring and encouraging a free flow of information across the department and inter departments 
• Setting up and operating various broadcast equipment including EVS

• Provide confident leadership and play an instrumental role in the growth of the NSW business unit in line with the business vision.
• Lead the delivery of a bundle of projects.
• Lead the delivery on other projects within the Government Super Sector as required. Previous experience working on construction projects for Government agencies such as Dept of Education and Health will be highly desirable
• Ensure all deliverables are peer reviewed and produced in a timely manner.
• Manage Client expectations through excellent communication.
• Always maintain the highest standards of Governance and Quality Assurance.
• Contribute to the overall improvement of service offering for the Government Super Sector within the Sydney Cost Management Team.

• Play an instrumental role in developing winning bids, networking, expanding brand awareness, and generating new opportunities for the business unit
• Manage a team of 5 (Senior Cost Managers and Cost managers)

• Externalise within the local property market to raise company profile and secure new opportunities to meet the target budget.
