About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on and proactive Senior Financial Accountant who will ensure compliance with accounting standards, timely month-end closing, drive our technical accounting expertise, and support the financial health of Ofload through accurate and timely reporting.

This role oversees revenue and COGS recognition, manage and complete the monthly close process, and reconcile the consolidated balance sheet while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• CA/CPA fully qualified.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Strong experience in technical accounting treatments, including AASB16, revenue recognition, goodwill & impairment, and share-based payments.

About the Role:

You will be a part of a dynamic and highly skilled Loam’s enablement function supporting the corporate accounting team and financial management of the business.  This role will include supervising day-to-day AP/AR function, monthly  accounting and reconciliations, cash management and supporting interim and year end financial deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Manage (hands-on) the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting cycles; debtors, creditors, bank recs, and cash flow for 1 to 2 companies.
• Supervise the AP and AR functions and/or teams and coach them to support efficient operations. 
• Managing monthly reconciliations process along with AASB 16 Lease accounting, inventory accounting, accruals and prepayments.

• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting practices and preparation and review of tax compliance matters.
• Exposure to the Manufacturing industry including exposure to Cost Accounting and establishing systems/ processes for inventory management and reporting would be highly valuable.
• Exposure to multinational companies and multi-currency consolidation are desirable but not essential.
• Strong experience in the Xero accounting system is essential. Experience / willingness to learn and adapt to Tier 1 and 2 ERP systems is highly desirable.

The Senior Vessel Accountant role reports to the Accounting Manager. In addition to below listed responsibilities, the Senior Vessel Accountant will be the point of contact for addressing and resolving vessel-related queries across the organisation, ensuring timely and accurate support to all departments and deputise for the Vessel Accounting Manager as required.

The Senior Vessel Accountant will be responsible for:

• Timely and complete preparation of monthly Vessel Reports.
• Submissions of all necessary reports in line with company deadlines and with sufficient time for vessel superintendent/ operations manager review.
• Reconciling, follow up and document operational balance accounts for each vessel under their control.
• Addressing and resolving vessel-related queries across the organisation, ensuring timely and accurate support to all departments.
• Run the monthly rebill process for both DOF Management Australia Pty Ltd and DOF
• Preparation of Vessel budget and forecast together with Fleet Team.
• Ensuring that accounting transactions are posted, up to date and in accordance with Group standards

• Providing analytical review over monthly vessel reports, interrogating variances from budget and forecast, including reasonableness checks.

About The Role

As a Senior Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and the Managing Director to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making. The selected candidate will be based in Adelaide, working in a hybrid setting that combines remote work and in-office presence at our location in Thebarton.

What You’ll Be Doing:

· Preparation and review of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets for each division.

· Ensure that all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and relevant regulations.

· Participation in the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirements, including the IFRS transition.

Month End Close

· Month-end entries and allocations: Includes GL reconciliations, journal entry booking, and salary and department cost allocations.

· Accruals and provisions: Manage bonuses/commissions accruals and AFDA provisions for bad debts.

· Payroll and tax reporting: Prepare payroll reports and tax/transfer pricing entries.

· Financial reconciliations: Finalize monthly entries, reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts.

· P&L Analysis and FS Preparation: Analyze the Profit and Loss statement, and prepare Financial Statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).

· Review results with finance manager to provide insights, improve processes, and document financial procedures.

Financial Analysis

· Conduct in-depth financial analysis, comparing actual performance against budgeted figures and providing variance analysis.

· Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks, enabling management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance.

Budgeting And Forecasting

· Rolling/Active forecast preparation: Develop and maintain the annual budgeting process and regularly update forecasts.

Additional Tasks

· Cash Flow reporting and analysis.

· Monthly Business Review Deck preparation.

· Churn reporting.

· AR/AP oversight.

About You

To be successful in the role you will:

Hold tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance, CPA highly preferred;

Have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a similar position;

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices including crucial support functions such as AR & AP.

Have a sound understanding of Goods & Services Tax (GST) principles;

Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office suite applications including Excel, Outlook and Word;

Be a proficient user of finance software applications (Netsuite experience advantageous)

Show initiative with a ‘can do’ and ’hands-on’ approach;

Derive satisfaction from the quality and timeliness of your work completed;

Have excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
