The ideal candidate will be hard working with a passion for oncology and be willing to learn, train and grow with our team. Employment Type : Permanent Full Time Position Classification : Nurse Practitioner Hours Per Week : 38 Who we are : We are a multidisciplinary clinic, with breast cancer surgeons and specialist breast physicians working alongside each other to provide people with breast cancer and other breast conditions expert consultation and treatment. We are also an all-woman team, and our practice is located in Camperdown, in the inner-west of Sydney. What you'll be doing The core aspects of the role will be the delivery of safe, quality practice including the development of specialist plans of care that meet the needs of the patient as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with endorsement from the Nurses and Midwifery Board Australia to work at an advanced level as a Nurse Practitioner in breast surgical oncology. Significant and demonstrated experience in breast surgical oncology. Demonstrated high level of communication and leadership skills. Demonstrated understanding and use of Evidence-based nursing practice. Benefits Annual Salary range $135,000-$145,000 Task & Responsibilities 1. To assist the surgeons and physicians in the practice with new and follow up patients by providing additional information and psychological support 2. New patient triage and ensuring all necessary results relevant to the consultation are present 3. Review and triage of incoming results 4. Answer enquiries from new and existing patients about clinical care and psychological concerns via phone or email 5. Cancer genetics assessment, counselling, and testing. (Cancer risk assessment for those who may be at elevated risk for breast cancer development- ongoing follow up or management of women at high-risk for breast cancer) 6. Post operative wound care and assessment of complications 7. Assist in ordering and interpreting imaging 8. Provide cancer survivorship assessments and plan 9. Generate referrals to other specialities based on the assessment of the multidisciplinary team and clinical need 10. Coordinate with hospital breast care nurses, preadmission clinic and other staff as appropriate, regarding pre and post operative patient issues Qualification & Experience Minimum 5 years experience as a nurse practitioner in the breast cancer field Proven experience in providing medical oncology and surgical oncology care to breast cancer patients. Experience in survivorship and surveillance care including interpretation of imaging and ordering of appropriate imaging, and understanding of adjuvant treatments Experience in genetic consultation, evaluation and organisation of testing About Company We list jobs for our law firm clients who have job openings.
