The position will function in a close working relationship with other team members to actively contribute to the achievement of the company's strategic goals and objectives. We aim to provide increased access to comprehensive allied health care, both in person and virtually, and improved health outcomes for people living in rural and remote areas, and First Nations people by:
Engaging with clients, their families and carers
Offering and delivering a high quality and safe allied health service
Improved access to regular therapy through virtual allied health services, complemented by in person sessions wherever possible
Creating healthier communities through capacity building within the community
Position Objectives
To provide an integrated and comprehensive in person and virtual podiatry service with a focus on the cultural context in which this is delivered, including:
- the delivery of high-quality generalist podiatry clinical services, covering a range of clinical conditions, complexities and age groups,
to clients in regional, rural and remote communities, which may include the clinic, a participant’s home, or other community settings such as libraries, hubs and education facilities,
- with clinical care delivered both in person and via tele-heath and may include delegation to allied health assistants,
and a preparedness and interest to support and enhance capacity in the delivery of quality care to rural and remote communities.
Position Activities
Independently utilise high level clinical knowledge, skills professional judgement and clinical decision making to deliver quality podiatry services across a breadth of practice covering a range of clinical conditions, complexities, and age groups, in varied cultural contexts and utilising innovative service models
Complete comprehensive, evidence-based foot risk assessments, providing reports, recommendations, and implementation as required
Deliver podiatry services working cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with clients and their families, community groups, other health professionals
Provide professional clinical supervision, training and delegation to allied health assistants, some of which may be in remote communities using virtual health
Provide professional clinical supervision to podiatry students as required
Self-management and Team Contribution
Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures and professional registration or accreditation requirements for your profession
Participate in the performance review process and commit to own self-development including professional supervision in accordance with Company policies and standards
Ensure all documentation and reporting is completed in agreed timeframes
Participate in continuous quality and service improvement activities regarding virtual and remote Podiatry services
Participation in Allied Health team meetings on regular basis
Work closely with the administration team to ensure that booking and billing of clients is completed efficiently and accurately
Foster Linkages
Foster collaborative working relationships with all company staff and build connections and productive working relationships with key providers, local health facilities, stakeholders and others.

Your Skills, Qualifications, & Competencies
Selection Criteria / Experience
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards in rural and remote podiatry
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to work sensitively and effectively with First Nations communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business with an understanding of the health, social and emotional wellbeing issues that impact on First Nations people in rural and remote communities
- Demonstrated experience or willingness to participate in the delivery of care through innovative service models, in particular virtual health and a supervision and delegation model
- Demonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage caseload to meet agreed timelines and objectives, establish trust and rapport with clients and key stakeholders with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, maintaining confidentiality and effective clinical documentation and reporting
- Qualifications / Professional Registration / Other Requirements
The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Podiatry and current registration or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHRPA).
Demonstrated ability to comply with the profession’s code of ethics and function in accordance with legislation affecting your profession.

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to provide evidence that they are, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: COVID-19, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), hepatitis B, and pertussis (whooping cough), influenza during their employment
Current Drivers Licence – essential
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including the requirement to travel, work and stay overnight for up to several days at a time in remote areas
Willingness to travel by road and small planes
Employees are required to undertake a period of probation appropriate to the appointment.

Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card, unless otherwise exempt (AHPRA registered practitioners)
Ochre Card (Working with Children NT)
Satisfactory National Police Certificate
