We are currently on the lookout for a Junior to Mid-Weight Product Designer to build user-centric digital products for Australia’s biggest brands, in collaboration with our talented Product Lead and multidisciplinary creative team.

As the ideal candidate, you will bring a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in product design, and a passion for creating seamless user experiences with well-crafted user interfaces.

The transformation you will experience

This is an incredible opportunity to unleash your talent and be involved in product design activities which make up Discovery, Define, and Design projects. You will get to partner with clients who are some of Australia’s most exciting and iconic brands; and elevate your skills by helping them address complex client/user problems and transforming them into intuitive UI and UX designs.

Your scope will include:

• Involvement in the end-to-end digital products (web/apps) design process – from building wireframes to finished UI that implement dev-ready design systems in Figma
• Design work in Figma such as system build outs, design exploration tasks, writing documentation, creating component libraries, and developing prototypes
• Involvement in user research and analysis and incorporate feedback into design iterations
• Mapping out user flows, writing user stories and other UX-related tasks
• Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, and other designers to deliver on projects

What type of person will be successful in this role?

• A junior to mid weight Product Designer with 1-3 years’ experience, ideally in an agency environment
• Someone who has a passion for solving complex client/user problems and transforming them into intuitive UX/UI designs for web and mobile applications
• A strong visual eye for beautiful user interfaces
• Proficiency in Figma building wireframes, prototypes, component libraries and design systems
• Experience with creating and maintaining design systems (experience with a complex multi-brand design systems - working with design tokens are a plus)
• Has been involved from workshop stage to conducting user research, usability testing, and incorporating feedback into design iterations
• An understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies
• The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and other designers and is comfortable with some ambiguity
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and present your work to stakeholders
• The ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Designer for a resource development consultancy company.

Key duties include:

• Maintaining and updating information on existing drawings
• Ensuring design quality meets standards and deadlines
• Contributing to engineering projects from concept to manufacture
• Verifying dimensions, nesting, fault finding, and troubleshooting
• Managing documentation of production drawings and bill of materials (BOM)
• Providing high-level customer service for engineering services

• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Basic understanding of mechanical parts and structural components
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and maintain technical records
• Strong time management skills and ability to work to high standards under tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in a similar industry is advantageous but not essential

The role

As part of the broader Social and Content team, this is an opportunity to unleash your creativity and work across some of Australia’s most iconic brands. You will be involved in a variety of projects – designing engaging decks, mocks for ideas, and reports to be presented to clients; crafting eye-catching posters and event invites; and creating social assets. The immediate scope of your role will be static and functional design but there may be opportunity to evolve into motion as the need arises.

What type of person will be successful in this role?

• 1-3 years’ experience in design with an impressive book
• A good sense of print and digital design, as well as photography and videography skills, a bonus!
• Strong skills in Photoshop, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, Indesign; EDM design a plus
• The ability to understand and interpret creative briefs
• Proactively identify new and creative approaches to elevate the quality of work produced for our clients
• Able to communicate work and explain the rationale around a certain approach to your design work
