Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead areas of the design and development of Epsilon Retail Media’s software systems. This role will be familiar with all the policies, procedures, and technical issues related to programming. You will be generally competent across the majority of areas within the Epsilon Retail Media system and have a good understanding of how it functions together.

You will take a lead position in the development of initiatives within the squad structure and provide the technical vision for the initiatives you are involved in. You will also be responsible for communicating status updates to people external to the squad, including any potential risks to the delivery deadline (scope creep, reduced resources etc.) as early as possible so effective support can be provided.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Mentor Junior and Intermediate Software Engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
• In collaboration with your Engineering Manager and the Technical Lead, build and maintain development processes and procedures, in TDD (test-driven development) or BDD (behaviour-driven development), and build upon a core SDLC.
• Implementing and monitoring ongoing strategies to enable us to deliver quality and excellence through robust testing education and policies that are balanced and appropriate to the scope of the project being delivered.
• In collaboration with the Test and Release Manager, establish automation quality assurance test methods and procedures, incorporating new technologies and meeting changing organizational, customer, and/or regulatory requirements.
• Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.
• In collaboration with other Senior Software Engineers and Engineering Managers, ensure timely status and metrics reporting to project management and senior management.
• Work with the Development team, Product Managers, and Engineering

About the Role (Your Why)

This Senior DevOps Engineer role is responsible for bridging the gap between traditional infrastructure support and DevOps. They will be guiding and implementing automation initiatives, operations and services. The role involves performing hands-on automation tasks in a range of areas. The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for improving processes, collaboration and integration between our internal operational teams. You will be joining a high-performance team in our extensive Operations business with a focus on innovative, modern approaches to improving the stability, scalability and maintainability of our customer facing systems.

What You’ll Do

As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to the team’s existing cross functional capabilities by providing high level experience with a combination of open source and automation products.

You will be involved in (but not limited to):

• Developing, reviewing and implementing CI/CD principles including containerisation
• Establishing and maintaining operational excellence with automation across a number of technologies and areas, including:
• Operating System deployment, configuration, and security hardening
• Installation and configuration of application middleware platforms
• Deployment to Azure and other cloud environments
• Code deployment and platform lifecycle management
• Reporting for audit and compliance requirements

• Ensuring platform high availability is maintained through reliable operational change and release processes; maintaining and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and performance, and backup and reporting
• Stakeholder engagement through technical collaboration and solution design.

What You’ll Bring

Key Skill and experience include:

• 5+ years of combined experience in application management, development and DevOps
• A detailed understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts, and experience with full stack automation including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Windows Server, Azure, M365
• Extensive knowledge and experience across the full Infrastructure Technology stack (Networks, Server, Databases, Endpoints, etc)
• Knowledge of industry standards , such as ITIL, ISO27001, Zero Trust, etc
• Expertise in configuration management including CI/CD pipelining
• Expertise in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc)
• Ability to adapt to rapid, iterative change
• Proven ability to mentor and support team members
• Ability to develop and improve operational practices and procedures
• Excellent communication skills

About the role:
As a Senior Software Engineer. You will work closely with developers, testers, Devops developers and business analysts in an agile team to design, build, implement and test quality technical solutions.

What you will be doing:

• Be involved in the full software development life cycle including designing, coding, testing, implementing, and maintaining software that is delivered on time and within budget.
