Your New Role

Your Day to Day

As a Senior Dispute Resolution Specialist in General Insurance, you will leverage your expertise in negotiation, conciliation, and case work investigation to ensure fair and efficient resolution of financial complaints. Working alongside a dedicated team, you will review complex complaints from consumers and small businesses that have not been resolved directly with the financial firm. Your objective will be to impartially negotiate fair outcomes, ensuring that all parties involved in the general insurance industry are satisfied with the resolution.

In this role, you will utilise experience in negotiation, conciliation and case work investigation to resolve financial complaints fairly and efficiently applying relevant codes, industry guidelines, legislation, common law and AFCA's Fairness Jurisdiction.

Working as part of a team, Senior Dispute Resolution Specialists review more complex complaints from consumers and small businesses that have not been able to be resolved directly with the financial firm, and impartially negotiate fair outcomes where possible.

Senior Dispute Resolution Specialists also prepare preliminary assessments and draft decisions on complaints that are not able to be resolved by agreement.

As a Senior Dispute Resolution Specialist, you will play a central role in how we consider and resolve complaints. You will: 

• Review complaints from consumers and small businesses that have not been resolved directly with the financial firm
• Work with customers to gather information and understand the core issues
• Apply a sound understanding of the AFCA complaint resolution criteria including relevant legal principles, applicable industry codes or guidance, good industry practice and previous AFCA decision to resolve financial complaints fairly and efficiently
• Utilise alternative dispute resolution methods to help parties resolves complaints by negotiation
• Investigate complaints that cannot be resolved by negotiation and produce preliminary assessments and draft decisions in Plain English.

About the Role (Your Why)

The Senior Cloud Platform Specialist is primarily responsible for the management of the Datacom Cloud with a relentless focus on continuous improvement of cloud operations and associated delivery leveraging agile methodologies. The role will deliver a professional technical engineer with responsibilities across a broad range of technologies. They maintain knowledge of the technologies deployed as well as up to date professional certifications to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service.

What You’ll Do

As the Senior Cloud Platform Specialist you will be focused on:

• The support of the various technologies that are deployed to deliver the Datacom Cloud. These technologies cover compute, storage, data protection, networking and automation
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Datacom to produce a single cloud vision and value proposition
• Demonstrating proactive ownership of identified issues as well as effective communication for suggested resolution efforts
• Proactive engagement with customers to ensure their requirements are continually being met with positive outcomes
• Compliance with all Datacom Cloud Operational and Information Security Management policies, procedures and processes to ensure an exceptional level of quality
• Maintaining awareness and knowledge of current market and industry developments and providing suitable interpretation to Management and relevant staff within the organisation
• Proactive support and management of the Datacom Cloud platform devices and applications
• Participation in 24x7 on-call support roster

What You’ll Bring

• High-level knowledge of the various technologies underpinning the Datacom Private Cloud
• Experience working in a multi-tenanted Cloud environment
• Experience in networking. Cisco switching and routing. SDN, ACI and VMware NSX-T
• Practical experience working with Virtualised environments running on VMware, Hyper-V or other hypervisors – VMWare experience is a must have
• Practical experience working with Enterprise Storage platforms (EMC preferred), fibre channel switching infrastructure (Cisco preferred) and associated Management platforms
• Practical experience working with Enterprise Backup Management Platforms such as NetBackup (Preferred), Veeam or TSM
• Experience with automation languages, practices and toolsets
