The RIX Group specialises in all aspects of ground engineering & slope stabilisation. With a high level of expertise, we have successfully expanded our business and are engaged in a number of major infrastructure and mining projects throughout Australia.
The Role
In line with the continued expansion of our business, we are currently recruiting permanent full-time WHS Advisor for our head office located in Kurnell, NSW.
The fundamental purpose and objective of this role is to monitor the adoption of the RIX Group OHSEQ Management System.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Workplace Health and Safety
* Promote Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems (WHSEQMS) and assist with its compliance.
* Maintain knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems and relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials.
* Provide advice and guidance to employees and management on WHS matters, including hazard identification and control, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
* Take responsibility for personal safety and that of the team, ensuring compliance with PPE regulations and safety protocols.
OHS, Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Knowledge of IMS Systems and the use of IT platforms/portals (e.g. Assignar), assist in development of OHS documents.
* Monitor Industry Standards, Regulations and Legislation with regards to WHS Australia wide and update our systems as required
* Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with Project and RIX Policies and Procedures.
* Collate, store, and file all relevant data onto our company management system and Assignar.
* Asist in reviewing, developing, implementing, and improving WHS to ensure that all safety requirements of the RIX Group are met.
* Asist Rix with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) compliance & chain of responsibility.
* Ensure all incidents are reported (internally and with Mend Services) and assist in the investigation where required.
Project Delivery & Training Support:
* Support the Project Management team with the preparation of SWMS and Risk Assessments for projects and plant.
* Ensure Hazardous Chemical Register are up to date and an electronic and hard copies of SDSs are available on the server and for projects.
* Assist our Plant Manager with Risk Assessments for various items of company plant and heavy vehicles.
* Travel to site when required and manage the integration of WHS to our field staff through TBT’s, Site Inspections, D&A Testing, Pre-starts, Plant Risk Assessments, SWMS workshops, Assignar usage etc.
* Monitor safety on various sites and report back to the PM’s/Supervisors and directors in this regard.
* Monitor safety at Kurnell Office & Yard – assistance with same systems extending to QLD Office & Yard.
* Develop, program, and implement employee training, internally and external.
* Help manage the company induction elements of safety and training and conduct inductions & workshops on company procedures and systems.
Required qualifications
* Relevant formal qualifications with some WHS qualifications preferred
* At least 2 years of relevant experience
* Driver’s license (Class C) – preferred.
* General Construction Induction (White Card).
* 1st Aid Certificate.
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word & Excel).
* Working knowledge of Assignar (desirable).
* Professional and positive approach to change.
* Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Salary: $90,000 + GST
