We have a Senior Commercial Analyst opportunity available within our Performance and Expense Management team which sits within our Finance business unit. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with our Information Technology, Continuous Delivery and Strategic Initiatives teams to provide reporting, communicating expense results and creating actionable insights.

Additionally, this role is heavily involved in the annual expense budget process, working with business stakeholders to build out expense budgets and operationalise this.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, working flexibly from our Sydney office.

In this role you will: 

• Take ownership of expense planning, budgeting, forecasting and other processes as appropriate.
• Assist with the delivery in terms of the Expense Framework which governs planning, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and analysis.
• Assist with partnering of Executives and Senior Leaders to influence and provide direction for the appropriate expense targets and goals for TAL, as part of the planning and forecasting process.
• Assist with the production of month-end expense reporting and analytics, including targets, productivity metrics and insights.
• Provide commercial insight and advisory on activities including business case development.
• Assist with month-end expense meetings with stakeholders to provide analysis, identify opportunities and strategies to mitigate risks as appropriate.
• Contribute towards short and long-term enterprise expense planning including stakeholder management during the planning cycle, co-ordination of inputs and analysis.

What is this role about?

The Senior Analyst, Data Quality will be providing support to Data Stewards and Data Custodians in the Product Domains and Corporate Functions to comply with Cuscal’s Data Risk Management Policy and Data Quality Management Standard. 

Here are some of the key outcomes the role will be driving: 

• Enable Data Stewards and Custodians to measure and report data quality health across prioritised systems / use cases. 

• Enable Data Stewards and Custodians to trust and verify the accuracy of their data to enable them to make critical business decisions. 

• Enable ETS – Data Services to implement data quality requirements for Critical Data Elements (CDEs). 

Specific roles and responsibilities include:

Data Risk Management Uplift Initiative 

• Define and elicit data quality requirements for in-scope CDEs in accordance with the Data Quality Management Standard. 

• Define approach to measure and report data quality health for in-scope CDEs. 

• Contribute to the design of data quality issue logging, triaging and prioritisation process. 

Data Quality Assessment 

• Conduct data quality profiling to identify patterns and trends for data anomalies, errors or inconsistencies. 

• Conduct data quality profiling to understand  

• Design data quality remediation plans considering outputs from cost-benefit analysis. 

• Develop SQL scripts for querying, data analysis and automating any data quality processes where feasible. 

Data Profiling and Cleansing 

• Assist Data Stewards and Custodians in profiling and cleansing prioritised data sets / CDEs to identify and rectify data errors, inconsistencies and duplications in accordance with the Data Quality Management Standard. 

Data Quality Health Monitoring 

• Prepare data quality metrics for review and approval by Data Owners, Stewards and Custodians. 

• Assist Data Steward / Custodian in raising data quality issue in Cuscal’s Governance Risk and Compliance (GR&C) tool and design remediation plan to track the issue to closure. 

• Design dashboard for presenting data quality trends and key risk areas at Technology Risk Committee (TRC) and Data Governance Committee (DGC) on a regular basis.

The Role:

As a Senior Marketing & Digital Analyst you will lead the evolution of how we use data to drive outcomes in lead generation and engagement, sitting at the intersection of data science and customers’ digital journey enhancement. 

You’ll be working directly with the marketing team and digital team, bringing your expertise and knowledge in how we might improve our capability in realizing the opportunities in our (big) digital data to improve lead volumes, lead quality, and lead conversion. 

This is a role focused on using data we have already built, and will involve working across our growth functions, including partnering with: 

• Marketing to uplift our analytical support for campaigns and targeting 

• Digital and Customer Engagement teams to make sure we’re helping customers through their insurance journey as business-owners. 

• Tech teams to orchestrate and integrate model outputs into our platforms. 

Day to Day responsibilities:

• Lead the application of data modelling within marketing and digital domains to support actionable strategies. 

• Working with Marketing to optimise acquisition and conversion to key growth and value metrics such as Customer Lifetime Value, CAC, and market share. 

• Identify and customise customer segments to boost engagement and conversion and assist our marketing and digital teams with audience management & activation and journey design.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python. 

• Experience with digital data sets including Google Analytics, as well as Paid Search & PPC data and platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Instagram, etc. 

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in an applied-statistics field (Business, Psychology, Finance/Actuarial, Business Analytics, etc.).

This role is responsible for adhering to and identifying improvements to relevant frameworks, policies, practices and controls to maintain the risk posture within the appetite.

• Adhere to the Third-Party Technology & Cyber Risk Management Framework and support the delivery of associated strategy, target state roadmap, and supporting processes and procedures.
