About The Role including Job duties and Responsibilities:
Orchard Café is looking for a full time chef. We are looking forward to welcoming hospitality professionals on board that are motivated to bring knowledge, passion and experience to this venue and that are excited to learn and grow in this business.
We are looking for a CHEF that can tick the following boxes.
1. Plan and create menus that reflect the café's orchard-to-table concept, utilising fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce, particularly highlighting fruits and ingredients from the orchard.
2. Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring dishes align with the café’s fresh, seasonal identity.
3. Ensure that all meals meet high standards in taste, appearance, and consistency, with special attention to presenting dishes that reflect the café’s rustic, orchard-focused theme.
4. Coordinate with local suppliers and the orchard itself for fresh produce. Manage inventory and order ingredients based on seasonality and café demand, minimising waste by using perishable ingredients creatively.
5. Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff in techniques appropriate to the café's menu, emphasizing sustainability and efficient kitchen
operations.
6. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, with particular attention to handling and preserving fresh produce.
7. Maintain cleanliness in a farm-to-table kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Cert IV in commercial cookery and overall Diploma level qualification preferably in hospitality industry
At least ‘One Year’ Experience in a similar role and similar environment
Strong communications skills,
Ability to work unsupervised,
Strong knowledge of cooking procedures and ingredients.
Salary:
Salary will be $74,000 per year plus superannuation.
