Join AFCA's growing finance team as the Accounts Officer! You will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. This is a newly created position, reporting  into the Financial Controller, joining a small team where you will be responsible for the Accounts Receivable function. The Accounts Officer will generate monthly invoice files and associated reconciliations, daily receipting, and allocation of all payments from current as well as new members, including credit card charges.

We are seeking someone who has both Accounts Receivable and Collections experience, who is a team player and excited by the idea of joining a transforming Finance team. 

Typically, in this role you will:

• Handle invoice enquiries where complaints arise due to incorrect complaint closure or disagreement regarding the closure status
• Handle a large volume of transactions within a complex charge model 
• Identify any over payments made or claims for refunds, gather supporting documentation
• Maintain accounts receivable module including data updates
• Follow all debt collection procedures, to ensure internal controls are maintained to preserve the integrity of the financial data.
• Prepare activity statements on monthly basis to report on revenue across AFCA
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations to various accounts on a monthly basis
• Follow procedures to ensure internal controls are maintained to preserve the integrity of the financial data.
• Assist with handling membership enquiries relating to new joining members, membership reinstatements as well as current member queries.
• Maintain process documentation for all key processes in Accounts Receivable.
• Collaborate with other members of the Finance team to continuously improve service delivery and effectiveness of outcomes.

About the role:

We seek an applicant who is self-motivated, has good communication skills and is able to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work for the school building and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community. 

This is a highly sought-after permanent, part-time position, 2 days per week, working 7:30am - 3:30pm on Mondays & Thursdays, with the possibility of increasing to 3 days per week as the school enrolment grows.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps etc.
• Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment
• Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
• Handle, store, and distribute goods and materials
• Move equipment and furniture as required
• Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
• Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, and gardening projects
• Complete daily grounds maintenance reports
• Train new employees in grounds-keeping duties
• Drive school vehicles as required.

About the School: 

The Aspect Hills Shire School will be a new state-of-the-art primary school located in the Gables, NSW.  Building is well underway and the school is set to open Term 1, 2025. The new school is located within “Gables”, a vibrant new suburb that is owned and developed by Stockland. The campus will cater for 72 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to Year 6.

We are currently seeking a Contracts Support Officer to assist the Contracts Manager. This role involves a range of administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, taking minutes, and drafting contract-related documents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and quality assurance support for contract-related activities, including monitoring and advancing associated timelines.
• Ensure compliance with Griffith University Procurement Policy and the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP).
• Maintain a comprehensive database of contracts, including updating certifications and licenses.
• Prepare and finalise contract variations.
• Maintain a list of upcoming contracts and their implementation timelines.
• Assist in monitoring budget expenditures and invoicing using the University’s finance and asset management systems.
• Perform financial administrative duties, such as reviewing and approving invoices, raising purchase orders, submitting invoices for payment, and handling invoice queries.
• Monitor and review supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, including timely report submissions, meeting KPIs, and conducting spot audits (e.g., CMMS, contractor inductions).
• Review and approve labour hour alterations (RTCs) submitted by external contractors.
• Maintain Power BI reports related to statutory maintenance and aged/incomplete work requests.
• Engage with the Operations/Facilities Management Team regarding any non-compliances or contractor issues.
• Perform general administrative duties, such as taking meeting minutes, maintaining documents and folders on the Contract SharePoint, and updating spreadsheets

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have: 

• An Associate Diploma level qualification with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in Finance, Procurement, and/or Contract Administration.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

The successful candidate will commence in the role on 9 December 2024. This is a fixed term (12 months), full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus.

As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 5 range $77,761 - $87,235 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $90,981 - $102,065 per annum.
