The Opportunity
Our Australian Steel Markets business is looking for a Customer Operations Specialist in our Customer Service team. This role can be based in Chullora or Port Kembla NSW, Brisbane QLD, Braeside VIC or Adelaide SA.
What Will You Do?
The Customer Operations Specialist plays an integral role in ensuring that our customer service processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will focus on optimizing workflows, improving response times, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of analytical skills and customer-centric thinking to bridge the gap between operations and exceptional customer experiences.
You will manage customer service data flows and processes for Customers across B2B systems and customer-facing platforms, to enhance operational reliability and customer satisfaction. You will:
- oversee and improve the administration, troubleshooting, and performance of B2B platforms (e.g., Customer Portals, D365, EDI, Steel Connect®, BlueScope Connect®).
- provide technical support for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues and manage user requests
- improve ordering processes and participate in improvement projects, new product launches, and system enhancements
- track key Customer Service KPIs, identify issues, and develop solutions to enhance system functionality and overall business outcomes. Champion operational system changes, supply chain improvements, and process optimizations
- act as the Customer Operations Manager when required, providing leadership in meetings, reporting, and managing team performance. Promote a continuous improvement culture and support the delivery of the ASM & Customer Service Strategy through proactive coaching, training, and mentoring
- uphold compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards while building internal capabilities for business process and system knowledge
More About You
You will have a technical background in user experience within a B2B environment. You will have strong written communication and process improvement experience. You will have:
- knowledge of IT service delivery frameworks, methodologies and process implementation
- the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- an understanding of sales and systems
- project management expertise
- experience working with Office365 and Windows 10
