About the Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Accountant / Financial Controller is a newly created position to help drive efficiencies and streamline processes across the Gradian Group of companies. The role will have responsibility for developing and delivering a highly effective finance function. The Accountant / Financial Controller will prepare financial reports, monitor cash flow, pricing analysis, forecasting, and assist with inventory management.
We are looking for an Accountant / Financial Controller at the mid-stage of their career, who comes to us with some experience but is eager to learn and grow.

Role and Responsibilities:
Directing the cash management and day-to-day treasury functions of the business including cash flow and liquidity management, banking, controls, and payable and receivables.
Liaising with external auditors, tax accountants, insurance brokers and other external stakeholders as required.
Managing the annual budget and regular forecast processes and maintain month end management accounts for business units.
Preparation of annual and quarterly financial budgets and forecasts – P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
Prepare information for and coordinate regulatory lodgement requirements with external accountants (BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, Income Tax, Workcover).
Preparing ad hoc financial analysis as required by senior management.
Support the development of and drive the management of OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
The production of all statutory accounting and tax reporting & compliance requirements.
Overseeing invoicing, payroll function, trade and assets finance lean books and submitting bank covenant documents.
Manage excel models including yearly budgets, cash flow forecast, loan schedules and payroll schedules.
The production of consolidated monthly management accounts and associated analytics for all entities including full balance sheet reconciliations.
Develop dashboards, executive summaries, and dynamic reports to support financial goals and objectives.
Skills and Experience
Be a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant.
Have a minimum of 5 years commercial accounting experience – (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
Demonstrated hands on experience performing all aspects of the financial management function in a medium sized organisation. Demonstrated strategic, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills for business sustainability.
Advanced leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Exceptional attention to detail. Experience in Xero (desired). Advanced user in Excel.
