About the Job

The purpose of the role is to support the effectiveness of Rest's accounts payable and corporate credit card functions while also supporting other functions within Finance and Investment Operations.

• Administer Rest’s accounts payable function; this includes setting up new payees, maintaining approver master lists, monitoring and managing workflow status and responding to queries received by the AP team inbox.
• Administer Rest’s corporate cards including applications, deletions and changes to limits as well as responding to queries.
• Administrator of the Expense Management System (EMS) including onboarding and offboarding of all staff, providing training to corporate card holders and processing of out of pocket expense reimbursements.
• Reviewing expense allocations in the EMS.
• Ongoing review and maintenance of delegation protocols and expenses policies.
• Preparation of quarterly reporting summary of Directors’ and Chairman’s expenses for sign off.
• Quarterly analysis of corporate card expenditure.
• Liaising as a business contact between Rest and our travel provider.
• Preparation of bi-annual report for Payment Times Reporting Scheme.
• Preparation of ad-hoc expense reporting or supporting internal and external reviews as required.

Purpose of your role

This role is an integral part of the Group Finance team responsible for providing financial reporting and insights for the business. Focus areas of this role include partnering with members of our Group Executive team to prepare and provide financial results analysis and insights, enabling excellence in business performance of each respective function.  You will also collaborate closely with our Group Financial Controllership team on month-end and year-end financial reporting and you will manage the budgeting and forecasting process for your key Group functions.

This role will suit a highly engaged and curious individual, capable of clear communication, with a high level of commercial acumen, attention to detail and the ability to critically assess information to provide valuable, actionable insights.

What you do

• Partner with members of the Group Executive team to provide ongoing financial reporting and analytical support through delivery of regular functional performance reporting, key insights and ad hoc analysis
• Manage the month end process for allocated functions including ensuring that financial results are accurate, and reports are released with detailed insights on performance against expectations
• Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for allocated functions, ensuring the accuracy and critical analysis of all inputs and outputs, including timely communication with all stakeholders throughout the process
• Assist with the development of ad-hoc business cases supporting investment opportunities
• Assist the wider business in understanding performance drivers, performance against expectations and developing insights to assist key stakeholders in making informed decisions
• Identify and implement continuous improvements across finance processes including leveraging technology to enhance reporting capabilities, planning, and month end process

Aquila Mine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Specialist to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Middlemount, QLD. The Commercial Finance Specialist will support operational leadership team members, by bringing an innovative financial lens to various operational decisions.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will see you:

• Develop commercial insights to assist site leadership and operational teams in making better value accretive decisions for the operation
• Performing cost assessments for variance reporting with key recommendations and improvements noted
• Facilitating, supporting, and enabling accurate and reliable forecasting and budgeting processes considering risks and opportunities
• Key areas will be financial analysis, reporting, governance, and controls as well as commercial input into operational continuous improvement
• Provide business case modelling support for on-site SIB capital, make recommendations on capital expenditure decisions to the disciplines
• Collaborate with discipline to develop risk register, proactively providing financial evaluation (cost/capital) of risk mitigation strategies
• Provide commercial input, analysis, and recommendations to the Commercial Team
• Provide discipline-specific financial reports and analysis
• Support tracking of discipline financial performance against plan, enriching financial reports with operational commentary discussed with disciplines
• Facilitate in-depth discussion of deviations from plan, identifying and communicating operational root causes to financial performance
• Empower discipline managers with the necessary reporting tools to make informed decisions relating to asset reliability, asset life cycle management and total cost of ownership regarding equipment and assets under their control
