About the Role (your why)

Due to continued growth within our team, we have multiple roles across Australia. Working as a Desktop Support Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of Desktop Services to a key Datacom customer. Aligned to our customers business requirements, we provide tailored maintenance services, hardware and software break/fix support, remote support, software deployment and relocation services.

The location for this role is on customer site in the Brisbane area. To be eligible for this role you must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain an AGSVA Baseline clearance. 

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Desktop Support Engineer you will be focused on:

• Providing excellent technical support in a high-paced environment where customer satisfaction is paramount
• Assisting new users with their IT hardware collection and setup.
• Ensuring new equipment, such as Laptops and Mobile phones, are up to date and deployment ready prior to release to customers
• Recording all customer contacts in the appropriate ITSM tool
• Keeping customers updated with regards to their tickets
• Using tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with SLAs
• Proactively manage and maintain customer infrastructure as directed
• Initiate and drive service and process improvement
• Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognised ITIL processes (EG: Change/release)

Our client is on the lookout for a talented Network Engineer with a special focus on Cisco Unified Communication systems (CUCM) to join their dynamic Information Communication and Technology department for a 3-month contract with potential for extension. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from Flemington, for at least two days a week, supporting a world where all kids thrive.

Role Purpose:

As a key member of the team, you'll be at the forefront of managing, maintaining, and supporting their Cisco Unified Communication systems alongside a suite of UC platform tools. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of initiatives and projects, ensuring the seamless operation of the hospital’s network and communication infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhance customer service experience by providing Level 2 support and technical expertise.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, offering guidance and fostering strong internal and external relationships.

Ensure the operational excellence of our Network and Telecommunications infrastructure, implementing strategic technical changes and managing live production issues with agility.

Lead in the continuous improvement and cyber security initiatives to protect our network and assets.

 What You Bring to the Role:

• CCNP certification or equivalent experience with Cisco routers, switches, voice, and wireless technologies.
• Proven track record managing Cisco UC platforms (CUCM), SBC’s, SIP services, and understanding wireless and firewall technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• The ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and deliver solutions in a 24 x 7 support environment.

Desirable:

• An understanding of the healthcare sector
• Experience with Faxing Services (e.g. RightFax)
• Experience with ARC, Vocera, iCare and other integrated messaging platforms
• Experience with MS Teams Calling, Cisco Webex, Jabber or similar
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Management platforms (Panorama)
•  Experience supporting and maintaining Network Monitoring Systems (e.g. ManageEngine)
• Experience /Exposure to cloud connectivity technologies (e.g. MS Express Route, Direct Connect)
• Experience/Exposure to Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) deployments

1. Customers feel supported and confident with FMC products

• Demonstrate a high level of understanding, knowledge and skills in the entire Fresenius Medical Care portfolio
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of renal disease and how FMC products benefit patients
• Provide technical resources (brochures, manuals etc) - Identify technical learning needs of customers (e.g. biomeds) and patients in consultation with appropriate personnel in order to support individual learning plans.

2. Customers receive technical expertise as a value-add resource

• Provide expert technical knowledge and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance
• Provide technical support in person or via telephone to new and existing accounts. Support patients directly if/as required
• Assist in-house biomedical technicians if/ as required and recommend further FMC training as appropriate

3. Carry out technical duties

• Maintain and repair FMC equipment in accordance with the customer contract and the FMC training manual
• Carry out proactive maintenance of all equipment as per the established servicing plan. Carry out fault finding and repair/replace equipment if/as required in order to maintain equipment in optimal performance condition.
• Inventory levels and fleet are maintained - Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
• Communicate all maintenance and repair actions for information to customer management as required.
• Complete the necessary paperwork for the completion of work and receive customer sign-off after their inspection
• Promptly report all accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions or practices

4. Support the achievement of business results and growth in patient numbers

• Identify customer resource needs (e.g. new products, technical support or clinical training) and provide appropriate support through liaison with the technical, sales and marketing teams
• Build and maintain positive/ value-add working customer relationships - Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support. This may involve working with other FMC teams or discussing future targets with the regional business manager.
• Monitor and report on competitor activities and provide relevant information to management

5. Individual work is performed in support of the local team and wider company

• Update own technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks
• Demonstrate a commitment to professional development through membership of professional organisations/associations, including relevant participation in special interest groups.
• Promote a team culture by assisting others during periods of high workloads, leave or absence so that overall objectives can be met - Provide input and support to technical programs as required
