About the role :
Reporting to the Reef Operations Manger, the Assistant Manager works closely with the Chef and Hosts in managing the daily operations of Reefworld and Heart pontoons, to assist the Reef Operations Master in managing all compliance and pontoon maintenance, leadership and management of crew and ensuring guests are provided with exceptional service.
The Assistant Pontoon Manager provides leadership and direction to the Pontoon crew to deliver our services and experiences safely. Ensuring that we stay true to our mission of ‘Create Amazing Experiences’ with each and every customer interaction.
The general work areas of this position are the Reefworld and Heart Pontoons, both of which are permanently moored 39 nautical miles offshore on the outer Great Barrier Reef.
You may be required to work on any day of the calendar week including weekends and gazetted public holidays. A standard working day shall consist of working 11.43 working hours for 8 days on and then have 6 days off, occasionally they may be required to work outside these hours as approved by the Reef Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage crew workflow and hours.
- Lead, mentor and support Pontoon crew, conducting regular performance conversations with direct reports to help develop in all areas of their role.
- Provide in water supervision in accordance with the In Water Operations Manual.
- Provide Vessel Safety Inductions and complete crew training as per policies and procedures.
- Vessel handling and navigation
- Ensure crew work to CWS Policies and Procedures
- Report all incidents and hazards as per polices and procedures.
- MAR20318 - Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal),
- Master 5/ MED 2 or 3 highly regarded
- Min 2 years managerial experience
- HLTAID011 Provide first aid
- HLTAID015 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy
