About this Role
At whiteGREY we believe that extraordinary brands, marketing communications and experiences are created from identifying and resolving the right kind of tension. Once we’ve found our tension, we use it to develop a brand platform, and then orchestrate the experience of the brand for consumers/users using our Platform Orchestration Model.
A Strategy Director will be tasked with leading the strategic approach for a group of clients, seamlessly integrating creative and media to create extraordinary brands and marketing communications. Ideally from a media agency background, you are excited about bringing those skills and blending them with creative thinking to provide visionary leadership for clients. You’ll collaborate with clients to develop their brand platforms, and then orchestrate the delivery of ideas across paid, owned, and earned media channels to maximize impact.
And of course, you will do most of the normal things a Strategy Director would do – partnering with clients to ensure our work is effective and the clients are doing the right things; tracking what’s going on in our clients’ categories and beyond; and looking for ways to develop our clients’ businesses and our business with the clients.
What you’ll be responsible for
Lead assigned client relationships
• Deliver strategic and commercial leadership to assigned clients
• Deliver revenue targets for these clients
• Manage the senior client relationships and ensure clients are engaged with, and positive about whiteGREY
Lead brand & communications strategy projects
• Lead brand and communications strategy projects.
• Develop brand and communications strategies, including brand purpose, guidelines, and campaign plans
• Produce best-practice strategic recommendations with clear implications for media
• In some cases, we will own the execution of your Communications Strategies across channels; while in other cases we will need help from other agencies connected to our clients (e.g. the client’s media agency, PR agency) to execute your strategies
• Author creative briefs, ensuring high-quality and on-brief ideas
• Strategically deliver marketing campaigns that meet client objectives
• Developing Social Media Strategies, and assisting the whiteGREY social team with doing the best work in social channels by reviewing monthly briefs, overseeing creative output
Grow the Business
• Contribute to/Strategically lead new business pitches
• Work with colleagues to identify and convert opportunities to grow revenue with existing clients
• Develop partnerships and work with partners to develop new business opportunities
Other
• Foster internal collaboration with account management and creative teams for effective work.
• Cultivate strong client relationships at all levels
• Contribute to agency PR through articles, blog posts, and award entries
• Enhance knowledge and development within the strategy team and the broader agency
Skills and Qualifications you’ll need
• Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Highly skilled communicator adept at simplifying complex media and agency structures.
• 10+ years professional experience, with 5+ years in a media agency.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Leadership experience with a track record of inspiring teams and fostering growth.
• Thorough understanding of planning tools and processes for campaign execution.
• Excellent relationship builder and communicator.
• Stay updated on industry trends, promoting innovative solutions.
• Commitment to high-quality work and positive relationships.
• High attention to detail.
• Commercially savvy leader turning data into a compelling story.
• Strong time management skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.
