We are looking for a Quality and Compliance Officer to join our team. Candidates for this opportunity should be Registered Nurses. While this is a full-time work from home (WFH) position, regular intrastate and interstate travel will be necessary to visit our facilities located in regional and remote areas of Tasmania, Victoria, and NSW.
The Position:
The role of a Quality and Compliance Officer involves offering support and assistance to the Quality Manager in ensuring the efficient monitoring of compliance functions and the implementation of various quality-related initiatives.
What you can bring to the role:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
- Sound clinical knowledge including an understanding of current best practice.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- High level ability to utilise information management and computer systems.
- Working knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards, Specified Care and Service Principles of the Aged Care Act, Documentation Standards, Residents Rights, Aged Care Funding Instrument and other relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practices.
- Excellent communicational, organisational, and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage workloads and meet required deadlines.
- NDIS Worker Screening certification.
- Capacity to travel interstate as required.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, research and apply sound judgement to contribute to decision making and continuous improvements.
- A clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the context of the position.
Requirements of the Role:
- Undertake a range of audits against the accreditation standards related to residential aged care and home care.
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in identifying areas for continuous improvement to support quality and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in the development of projects to support quality and compliance.
- Assist and support the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in the development and implementation of best practice policy and process.
- Develop and maintain a high level working knowledge of the electronic clinical support systems.
- Assist and support the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in developing, conveying and delivering on individual and organisational plans for continuous improvement.
- Maintain documented evidence of the organisations Quality Management Systems across all sites.
- Risk identification and mitigation.
- Trending and analysis.
- Preparation for external regulator visits including reaccreditation.
- Assistance with Gap Analysis and on-site support.
- Education including Quality related education as required by Facility or State.
- Oversight and support of clinical practice/medication practice.
- Attendance at internal and external meetings – as required by the business or at the direction of Chief Quality and Risk Officer.
- Attendance at announced/unannounced commission visits as needed.
- Care Manager support.
- Orientation of new management team members.
- Understand, comply with and report in line with the Serious Incident Reporting Scheme (SIRS).
- Oversight of facilities to ensure compliance that is delivered within the framework of Respect’s policies and procedures, legislative requirements, and meet the relevant service standards.
- Any other task as directed by the Chief Quality and Risk Officer.
