An opportunity is available to join the kitchen team at BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. For this role we are searching for a skilled and experienced chef who is capable of working in all sections of the kitchen and willing to work varied starting and finishing times.
The successful applicant will be an energetic and positive chef who has the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume setting.

Job Details:
In this role as a qualified chef you will have extensive experience and will be happy to show your versatility across all sections of the kitchen.
You will be flexible and willing to embrace varying shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and breakfasts. This position will work with a rotating roster and will be committed to showing up with their A-game for every shift.
Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the restaurants recipes and quality standards
Follow instructions and recipes closely to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
Assist in food preparation tasks
Maintain a clean and organised work station, adhering to food safety regulations
Work with the rest of the team to ensure cooking times are coordinated
Ensure that food is prepared and served at the appropriate temperature.
Monitor and replenish food supplies and ingredients during service to avoid shortages.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen before and after service.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Report any equipment issues or safety concerns.
Work efficiently during busy periods to meet customer demand.
Collaborate with team members to meet service and food preparation deadlines.
Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimise food waste.
Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks including dishwashing and sweeping.
Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by senior chefs and managers
Your strong experience combined with dedication, enthusiasm and hard work will be appreciated and nurtured.
About you:
Minimum 3 years Commis Chef experience
Exceptional ability to prioritise, problem solve and work well under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Be adaptable and open to changes in menus or procedures
Willing to learn and take on new tasks
Has a positive approach to working within a team and encouraging colleagues
Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
Be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
Happy to work nights, mornings weekends and school holidays
SALARY RANGE: $73,150 - $74,000
