East Maitland Therapy Manager
12-month secondment opportunity starting mid-March 2024

A fantastic opportunity exists to join Cerebral Palsy Alliance in a twelve month parental leave position as the Therapy Manager of the East Maitland team from late March 2024.
The East Maitland therapy team in 2024 will consist of 15 therapists and one allied health assistant. The East Maitland clients are also supported by a team of four Client Services Consultants s who report into a Client Engagement Team Leader. A small site in terms of building foot-print, the team provides the majority of service in the community, including an out-reach service to the Upper Hunter.
In this role you will be supported not only by the Regional Manager (to whom the position reports) but by a network of therapy managers across CPA, and in particular the three other Hunter and Central Coast therapy managers. You will also have access to various modes of leadership training including online courses and face to face sessions facilitated by Regional Managers, internal business partners and external subject matter experts.
The position is site-based, with the opportunity to work from home one/day per week once settled in the role. There will also be days spent at head office in Allambie (Sydney) once every 2-3 months.
Clinical background is beneficial but not essential.
Required Skills
- Strong communication skills including conveying expectations, providing feedback, and facilitating team discussions, communicating risks and barriers to the Regional Manager, and effective engagement with stakeholders and clients to understand their needs and concerns
- Leading through guidance, motivation and support
- Ability to translate strategic priorities of the organisation into meaningful actions for your team
- Problem-Solving: troubleshooting challenges, performing logistical gymnastics and making informed decisions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Data-driven decision-making
- Proficient user of IT
- Commitment to supporting team members to navigate daily challenges as well as their longer-term professional development.
- An understanding of the complex needs of our clients
