The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Product Innovation and Technology team at our Western Port Manufacturing facility as a Material / Product Engineer. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

This varied role will see you supporting all aspects of process production as you apply your technical, analytical and continuous improvement skills to the forefront of everything you do. You will deliver processes and ensure product conformity across a range of specialist unit groups. Working collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance, you’ll support process improvements through data analysis, and process monitoring, whilst championing a safety-first culture.
This is a role located in Hastings, VIC, on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, working Monday to Friday, day shift. With your willingness to learn, we will support you with on-going training and development. What Will You Do?
With your analytical, hands-on approach you will:
- successfully contribute to a safe working environment
- identify and improve the outcomes of technology and operational processes
- work directly with production teams to understand core processes
- assess, and analyse data, whilst identifying opportunities to improve our products
- work collaboratively within our manufacturing plant to ensure product quality
More About You
Perhaps you bring experience from a similar role or as a new graduate, we will provide you with on-the-job training and develop you in the role. As a self-motivated individual, along with your technical skills, you will bring:
- relevant tertiary qualifications in Materials Engineering/Science or equivalent
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
- developed communication and influencing skills - building constructive and effective relationships
- a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently with a hands-on approach
