The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Orrcon Steel business in our Marsden Park team as our Senior Operations Support Coordinator. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
Being in an influential role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products, you will support our operations leaders, focussing on process enhancement, business strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives as you support the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

What Will You Do?
In this hands-on, integral role, you’ll work closely with our operations and sales teams as well as our NSW Branch Managers and logistics suppliers. You will be responsible for:
- coordinating contractor management, cost and service to maximise operational efficiency
- identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and mitigate risk - striving for on time delivery for our customers
- supporting our new starters and coordinating ongoing training and development opportunities for the branch
- developing and maintaining strong relationships with business leaders to support the growth and performance of our teams
- ensuring safety standards are continuously evolving, championing change when risks and opportunities are identified
- promoting well-being and inclusive behaviours
More About You
You don’t have to come from a steel background – perhaps you have developed your operational skills in a broader manufacturing environment. Where you will add value from day one will be by using your natural curiosity and inquisitive nature to learn about our products and provide support to our successful team.
Being a reliable and dedicated individual with an interest in system and process improvement and a willingness to learn and develop yourself, you will also bring:
- exposure to working in a manufacturing environment
- proven experience in managing contractor relationships
- the ability to identify opportunities for, and lead projects towards, process improvement
- the ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes
- the ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands
- a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail
- a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
