Purpose:To provide plant and equipment management services for Council’s large and varied plant, fleet and equipment assets ensuring that they are fit for purpose, maintained and replaced and able to meet desired operational requirements. The position works closely with Directors, Manager – Fleet, Overseers, and plant operators to optimise productivity and efficiency in the provision of fleet, plant and equipment maintenance and services.Key Responsibilities:Fleet MaintenanceCompliance and continuous improvementCorporate FunctionsCustomer Service and Administrative FunctionsPlease refer to attached position description for furtherinformation.About:Roma, QLDFull time / 36.25 hours per week5 weeks annual leaveFortnightly Rostered Days Off (RDOs)15 days personal leaveAnnual Leave loadingEmployee Assistance Program & Social ClubSalary sacrifice facilities (i.e., rural remote rent assistance, novated leasing, additional super contributions)A strong candidate for this role will have:To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you will be able to meet (or have the ability to obtain) the below mandatory requirements for the role:Current C (Car) Class Driver LicenceConstruction Induction (White) CardCertificates of competency in heavy plant operation relevant to maintenance activitiesCertificate IV Training and AssessingDegree with experience in field of specialist expertise, or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience, in one or more of the following – fleet management / workshop operations / mechanical engineering or a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties of the position.Required skills and experienceDemonstrated experience in strategic planning and analysis in fleet management.Comprehensive understanding of the National Heavy Vehicle Accrediation Scheme (NHVAS).Demonstrated experience working with plant management software systems to maximise use, mobilisation and reduce unscheduled downtime.Demonstrated technical skills and experience of workshop functions, operations and practices.Ability to provide a consistent level of exemplary customer service.Excellent written skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prepare reports and interpret and apply relevant legislation.Demonstrated knowledge of accepted Industry Standards, Quality Assurance Standards, Work Health and Safety Act 2011, legislative requirements applicable to fleet management and plant services.Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council’s values and team goals.Previous experience working in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
