About the Role
An incredible opportunity exists to innovate, strategise and deliver new and competitive technologies and solutions for Alcoa’s Refinery of the Future (ROF) program!
As the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role as an Electrical subject matter expert contributing to a major engineering project and supporting with technology development and equipment integration capabilities by:
Providing Engineering functional leadership to the ROF Program of Works for all aspects of the Electrical Infrastructure and Power Systems (Refinery and External).
Having full oversight of 3rd Party services (Scoping, Contract definition, Deliverables, Quality, Review and Approval) associated with Electrical infrastructure design.
Investigating, initiating, and evaluating emerging electrical technologies and practices for inclusion into the design and operation of Refinery of the Future.
Designing and engineering Power systems, multi-MW scale load modulation systems, AC to DC power systems and tie is with grid utilities up to 220kV.
Collaborating and interfacing with the wider Alcoa network of Electrical and Power Subject Matter Experts.
Delivering turnover requirements to support operational readiness for Pilot/ prototype plants and any FEED package associated with ROF.

What you can bring to the role
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
Strong engineering experience within an Electrical Management / Leadership role.
The ability to work constructively with multiple stakeholders to achieve best results, boosting performance and opportunities for concept ideation and implementation of new technologies.
Background in the Alumina, Mineral Processing, or similar heavy industry is considered favourable but not essential.
Skilled in design execution, contract management, construction quality control, and commissioning support.
A flexible work approach providing opportunity to work within a global technical community.
