The Role:

POSITION PURPOSE

Project Planning
Initiate pre-project risk assessment/review and communicate findings to Key Stakeholders as applicable.

Project Facilitation
Managing the main contract in the role Act as the Contractor’s Representative.
Acting as the single point of contact with the client.
Managing the kick-off meeting and overseeing it is conducted.
Ensuring that the project risk register is maintained, mitigated, and updated.
Reporting against the large project review approval monthly to the General Manager on project status and health.
Overseeing that the client is well informed and further build or develop relationships with customers for repeat business.

Liaise with supply chain to ensure the best pricing and lead times out of preferred suppliers and subcontractors and ensure requisitions are undertaken expeditiously.
Implementation, management and reporting of head project schedule, utilising scheduling information received from subcontractors.
Maximise invoicing monthly and invoice upon immediate achievement of milestones or earlier as negotiated.
Monitor and measure time, cost, quality, risk, margin & cash flow without fail.
Coordinate all project activities in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Proactively bridge and rectify performance gaps in budgets or schedules before it becomes a problem.
Effectively liaise and build relationships with internal stakeholders in sales, engineering, operations, and supply chain.
Identify opportunities to optimise construction and operational costs through value engineering of contract and order specifications.

Will provide and maintain specific expertise in their nominated product line (Conveyor Pulleys) and all related Software specific to the Product Line not limited to Design, detail design and drafting
Will oversee all Research and Technology Development (RTD), New Product Development (NPD) and Current Product Engineering (CPE) tasks within Conveyor Components (CC).

To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have:

Qualification and Experience
Bachelor degree in Engineering
A proven track record with a relevant experience in Engineering in mining & construction business or steel related industry
Expert and highly skilled in material handling conveyor components
Nominated Product Line Manufacturing experience
Nominated Product Line Expert Design Experience
A good understanding of the mining industry and work practices is desirable
Knowledge of and experience with Sandvik Mining and Construction product range
Knowledge of Sandvik’s way of working would be beneficial

Your daily duties will include however are not limited to;

Technical
Maintain high level knowledge and experience in a specific Prok product line (Conveyor Pulleys), as nominated in the organisational structure for the group
Undertake product application process support from initial conceptualization of solution to delivery of operational outcome
Responsible for the background design fundamentals and equations
Understand the operation of NEPEAN industrial equipment and provide technical assistance during project installation, commissioning, and maintenance
Ensures calculations for mechanical, elements of design are conducted to the appropriate standards
Responsible person for the development and deployment of our proprietary internal Pulley design Program
In depth knowledge of pulley design encompassing end disc stress cause and effect, shaft design locking assembly selection
Undertake investigations into the failure or sub-standard performance of Prok equipment using specialist product knowledge

Business Growth and Development
Lead the regional engineering team to support the Sales group in generating business by providing assistance with product selection, and developing value propositions, including product enhancements, that suit particular client applications
Liaise with Sales and Engineering Manager, as required, to provide information that supports the ongoing development and improvement of Prok products
Track and report the appropriate metrics for R&D
Maintain and develop any required product templates, e.g. BOMs and drawing templates, within the Product Lifecycle Management tool
Oversee the patent application process for new CC designs
Responsible for the nominated product line for all technical queries from Operations, that cannot be adequately clarified by the Production Engineer.

Customer Service
As appropriate provide audit services at client’s sites for the purpose of identifying improvement and value add opportunities
Support the Business Infrastructure / Segment Aftermarket groups to rectify operational problems with Prok equipment.
Financial Experience – awareness of financial performance of the business

The role includes but is not limited to:
Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
Perform fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
Work with variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys
Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
Perform appropriate type of weld - base on project needs and specifications
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Ensure fabrication and repairs are carried out using the proper safety guidelines to ensure rework jobs do not occur.
Use a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets standard specifications
Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent
Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties
Post trade experience in the same field
Proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of an outstanding team to deliver excellence for our clients
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys
Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
